Olan's thoughts for this strip:
I wish that I could make this stuff up. These events actually happened in a game that I DMed. Of course, the mage's player had a good point - if his charm could cut down on the number of enemies they had to fight, it would have helped a lot more than a single low-level offensive spell.

Not that the cleric's player found any comfort in that.

As an aside, everyone else found a lot of amusement in it, however.

Also: I love the way that Jhim looks as he casts the spell.

Script for this strip:
Ladan: "That's the last of my healing spells. I need to rest before I can cast more."
Dalana: "We need to find someplace defensible."
Faustus: "And close to the furnace, so we can keep it burning."

Brad: "I'm sick of skeletons! My sword only does half damage against them!"
Ray: "Yeah, well, we wouldn't have to fight so many if Rich would leave the dead monks alone!"

Rich: "My character CAN'T just leave them, guys. They have to have their final rites."

Tim: "Is that so?"

Steve: "You have one spell left in a dungeon full of undead, and this is how you want to use it?"

Tim: "If it works, it'll be way more beneficial than one stupid magic missile!"

Jhim: "It is dangerous for you to disturb the dead. Stay away from the bodies."
Ladan: "It is dangerous for me to disturb the dead. I will stay away from..."

Ladan: "Ow, what in the... did you try to cast a spell on me?"

Steve: "Ladan barely makes his saving throw, and manages to resist the urges of the charm spell."

Rich: "Dude! Why would you do that?"

Tim: "Sorry, man... nothing personal. I'm just playing my character!"
