Rune's Travel Log

Should go, so I followed,
At a run I followed, breathe within me faster than the wind.
Then I heard her.
She laughed and I stopped, for she sat in a clearing.
My feet had carried me outside of town, Into the fields and I remembered.
I played in these very fields as a child. I remembered the grass, the pond, the very paths of the beasts,
And the earth remembered me. I spread my roots, regaining my roots, and planted,
For here was my home, not the broken stool I had claimed.
Then I looked, and she was gone, the moon high.
I lay down to rest, and I dreamed.
Then I heard her. I awoke to day as day awoke,
And caught a glimpse of her within the forest.
To my feet I took, taking the earth in stride,
For I could not leave my past behind.
So I carried the earth with me, my piece,
Not in my pack, but in my heart, where earth ways most,
And again I chased, but not as fast,
Wishing to see my home, and she did not outrun me,
For she waiting, and knew, and wanted me to know,
For, to know her thoughts was to know her, as I wished to do.
Then I heard her.
Again she laughed, lightly this time, at me,
For trying to catch her was I caught,
The treasure known is treasure wanted,
Wanted, to chase it, and in that I was caught,
But enjoyed being caught, because she wanted it, I knew her.
The mountains loomed, lair of Dragons, and into it I strode,
Happily, upon her heels, not running, but travelling, I would catch her, she wished it.
Then I heard her. She sang, and it was beautiful. Digg Technorati Blinklist Furlreddit
