Kaelyn: I'll see what I can come up with.

All: the current shirt is offered in black. If anyone would prefer another color, let me know. If there is interest in RDI shirts, period, I'll go to the effort of setting up a storefront; but for now, this is a test run.

I can certainly bring it all down a bit. The centering is an issue; I can only do so much there.

Edit: how about now? I brought everythign down a bit, stretched the text, then dropped the cross into the gap under the headline.

oooOOOOOooo.... never thought of doing these, but I'd be happy to do so.

Good luck with the Yana thing... she comes on for an afternoon at a time with weeks in between visits.

That being said, I'd be glad to work with you on a custom shirt.

Nothing on the back of the shirt. Pretty much every little thing I add kicks the price up another three bucks, you see.

Now, if there was demand, I'd gladly decorate the back and/or the sleeves. Let the public speak!

Over the years, we've recevied more than a few requests for RDI t-shirts. At one point, we offered some Audalis art-themed shirts, but they didn't prove to be very popular (not as many games in Audalis back then?), and I just left the idea alone.

Well, finally, I am releasing a brand new RDI t-shirt design - it can be found at this link.

What do you folks think?

If the response is good, we'll look at doing some others. This shirt is done on a lightweight cotton tee - if you'd prefer something heavier, or a "girlie" shirt cut, or something else, let me know - I can do the design on other mediums.

This is NOT a low-quality digital print - hence the price.

Shirts with lots of colors and/or art WILL have to be done with digital printing, which will make them a bit cheaper at the cost of shirt longevity.

Anyway, check it out and let me know what you think.

Subject: boy, it gets thick, now!

Arien had not expected the fight to be easy. However, he had certainly not expected to once again feel like a whelp of a mere ten summers, knocked to the ground time and again by his swordplay tutor.

Garrin had been the man's name. A swarthy foreigner, he had served as the captain of his grandsir's guards. At the time, Arien had cursed his gransir for placing him under the tutelage of such a cruel man; the bastard would parry the young Thedell's awkward blows and repay them with swift, painful raps with an oaken practice blade. Tears did nothing but entice more cruelty out of the man, and the young noble had spent plenty a night aching far too much to fall asleep.

Of course, this training had been necessary, and had served as the foundation to Arien's becoming a warrior. Years later, when the heir to House Thedell strapped on his armor and prepared to make his way in the world, grandsir had given him the enchanted shield that bore the Thedell crest. "Carry it well, boy," he had charged the young knight.

Now, the shield was ruined, broken, hanging uselessly from a numb arm, and Arien was clearly losing a deadly fight with a green-armed monster. Despite his best efforts, Arien felt black despair begin to creep over him, felt it force home the dark realization that he could not win. He would die here among the rubble, a failure. A failure to Alloryn. A failure to grandsir. A failure to himself. The shield had broken, the heir was next.

Suddenly, from the dust emerges the form of Alloryn. Or, at least, what appears to be Alloryn. Though no mage himself, Arien can plainly see that powerful magic is afoot here - Allyorn is clearly struggling with something beyond the knight's comprehension.

That struggle ignites something within Arien, and he steels his resolve. The despair gives way to anger. Alloryn is no quitter, and neither is he! If this will be the day that the knight dies, he will do his level best to make the victory a precious one for his foes. With a snarl of fury, Arien redoubles his attacks against the green-armed foe.

Laying it all on the line, here - Arien is going as close to beserk as he can. Clearly, his traditional style is not cutting it, so here's to hoping the dice gods stop laughing and start smiling on the knight.

No worries, Brom. When you folks decide how you wish to proceed, please post your plans.

Specifically, I need to know if Charlie plans to try to hack in now, or wait until later. If now, will she stay alone? Keep a buddy? Keep the whole team here?

If you continue to explore, let me know who is going, and where you are going.

It CAN be done - theoretically, anyway (the dice gods could be REALLY, REALLY unkind, I suppose). However, none of the usual tricks are gonna work, nor will the shortcuts. Unless she gets phenominally lucky, Charlie can expect to dedicate from several to many hours getting into the data.

Slaa'kar faces, by their very biology, lack the ability to display many of the expressions normally enjoyed by both humans and sylvari. Still, the reptilian warriors manage to fully convey the emotion of confusion.

"You wisssh to kill dirty humansss sssomewhere elssse?" the smaller slaa'kar asks. A few siblant words are exchanged among the swamp dwellers, and their body language makes it plain that they see nothing wrong with killing the pirates there on the beach, as opposed to some far off location.

"If you sssmaller count than dirty humansss" the slaa'kar asks, "how will you forccce them through ssswampsss?"

The creature shrugs. "We will help kill dirty humansss. Beach or human nessst, mattersss not. They die."

Subject: technospeak

Bad news for Charlie, Vanadia - looks like there is some sort of corruption to the operating system of the installation's servers. In other words, the quick solutions are not gonna work (the dice gods are mocking you).

A little deeper investigation reveals some really seriously nasty data safeguards in place; simply removing the data storage devices and attempting to access them from a functional computer will also not work... at least, not without some serious supercomputing power to override said safeguards. There is a darned good chance that doing so could trigger destruction of the data itself.

This is not surprising; if the data is that sensitive, you can't have some chucklehead popping out the equivalient of your hard drive and sticking it in his pocket so that he can steal data at his leisure... but the lack of surprise does not make your life easier.

So, in summation, this could be hours, or it could be a LOT of hours before the data is avaible.

One final note - the cameras here use data disks, not casettes. Think DVDs with better storage capability. Note that these may also be encrypted.

Please detail how you folks wish to proceed.

13th Pfier (Valday), 452 E.R.
Swampy area near the lighthouse

With the framework of a plan in place, the group moves away from the lighthouse and the beach, and back towards the swamps. Unfortunately, En'Aranthea's two hours pass far too quickly; the idea of enlisting the slaa'kar is one thing, but tromping through the swamps calling "here, lizard, lizard!" proves to be another. With no luck, and daylight beginning to fade, the group turns to head back toward the pirate camp.

...when three slaa'kar seemingly appear from nowhere in front of you. All three are brown, and none wear clothing aside from a belt. Two of them are a good half foot taller than the third, who looks oddly familiar. All three carry spears, and the two taller beings wear shields fashioned from hide on their left arms.

"Outlandersss return," the shorter slaa'kar speaks. "You have killed the dirty humansss?"

May 9th, 2025 - 0124
Observatory, Antarctic Research Facility 36, Antarctica

Lieutenant Kernan sets the new marching order and gave new instructions, and the team sets out to follow them. Carefully, the team sweeps the corridors, finding nothing.

"Pearson, cover that hall. Lee, sweep the restroom," ordered the officer. Complying, Lee and Pearson execute a standard sweep of the indicated room. Every shower and toilet stall is checked, revealing no occupants, living, dead, or otherwise. The restroom is slightly more humid than the rest of the base, but that is to be expected. It is otherwise completely unremarkable (unless you count the fact that there is only one restroom - not two. Then again, in Antarctica, one does not duplicate effrots unless necessary).

After receving the all clear, Kernan gives new orders. "Kane, you and Johannsen take the communication center through the door across from the foyer. Lee, you and Pearson are going in here. Blake, you cover the foyer: Kane and Joannsen’s six, while I cover this angle. Move out, and be careful."

The ranger team covers all entrance aspects to the communications room while Lee and Perason make their entrance. A quick sweep reveals no occupants in the room.

The communications room is relatively spacious, and is filled with various computer and electronics equipment. Several girlie pinups decorate the walls, and a few empty styrofoam coffe cups lie scattered around an overfull trashcan.

Equipment present in this room:

File server
Mail server
Various radio receivers
controls for the station's satellite dish
controls for the station's PA system
A few assorted cameras and projectors
A personal computing station
A satellite phone
A long range radio and television transceiver
A video camera
Assorted video disks

A quick inspection of the personal computing station reveals that no connection to the internet is available, apparently due to a hardware issue. Likewise, the satellite phone is unable to make any sort of connection.

The access codes provided to Blake prior to the mission are, as suspected, outdated. The security system in place on the file and mail servers is surprisingly sophisticated - to the point that some of the DoD guys would be suitably impressed. Blake's initial attempts to access the systems are completely rebuffed.
