Subject: Wow...

I got positive karma for that? Nice. Also, I stay true to my word. I am saying nothing further on the topic. It is closed to me. A well-fought debate, worthy of my history professor. I salute you, good sir, but, mind you, I wasn't trying.

A cow would not die if left unmilked, if they actually let the cow do her natural job. All mammals function thus, and, if that were the case, Humans would die if they didn't milk themselves. *You* used to debate? I think I'm with death on this one. Over-the-top, not very believable.

On a side note, has anyone told you, Ryst, that you sound very much like Cap'n Lou?

My diet is none of your business, but, since you seem determined to give me advice, I'll divulge it anyway.

I eat dairy. I drink milk. I eat meat. I eat fish. I eat just about anything that tastes good, and yes, that includes veal on rare occasions.
I eat what I like to eat, and not you, or anyone else is gonna stop me. I really couldn't care about physiological reasons or moral implications either.

Do you see where this can go? This can take any number of turns and/or twists, none of which I am going to explore.

I am not getting into a flamewar with you, Ryst, or anyone else. I was simply poking a hole in your argument to expose weak points in it, and encourage you to cover all your bases.

This was a lesson in double-standards.

Your significant other, believe it or not, *is* a member of a species nearly extinct in the wild, whether or not she exists for the purpose of giving milk to a farmer. Humans do not live in the wilderness, and somewhere in the ball park of 40000-50000 people die in car accidents every year in the US alone, so the double-speak doesn't fly.

To recap, cover your bases, and avoid double-standards.

That's 2 lessons in debate, and I don't give 3.

I would buy my degree, go to Japan, bribe an offical, and get citizenship. With what is left, I would get a house, and pay tribute to King Eol.

There is now a TV that everyone must watch for one moment, showing the Earth from space.

So, is it OK for someone to force impregnation on your significant other by someone other than you, and put her in a squeeze chute, strapping a machine to her to extract milk which could injure her?

Not that I'm saying you're wrong here, but a good argument should cover all the bases.

On the organic meat issue, that is a good idea.
Things like that are one reason I agree with most Jewish dietary laws. Kosher animals are those who have been raised and killed in the quickest, most humane manner possible.
Personally, I would slip them a medication to knock them out into their feed, and kill them quickly in their sleep. Either that, or develop a variant of the cocktail used to put pets down which can be used on food animals without poisoning the meat.

However, while I agree that animals should be treated in a humane manner, I do not like PETA pushing vegetarianism on people who may simply desire an alternative means of obtaining their animal products.

Organic meat is a worthwhile venture, but the downfall of all things organic is the price. Organic foods are not selling as much as other foods because they are far too expensive. If I could find organic or even kosher foods priced reasonably, I would buy them as long as I could find them. Until this happens, I'm gonna avoid the hit on my already diminishing budget.

On a lighter note, what would *you* do for a Klondike bar?

I was just wondering...
There is an Avatar I submitted under Harukana_Yume, and since I have my (slightly modified) old name back, could you deny that one, as I was only ghosting at the time?

I have another one in mind anyway, along the same vein, for my personal avatar. Unfortunately, it is anime, but I need a pic of a Miko, and they show up a lot in anime.
