Subject: A Shared Future... and the Watching of Time

Out of the corner of her eye, the girl can see a horse leave town. Upon it is the rider whom she had followed earlier, and even more recently actually ran into, albeit in a different form. What are you up to? She wonders, leaping from the clock tower and into the air.

However, even as she flies high above and catches up to the rider below, the girl feels a shiver. It was a calm day, with no breeze or anything, but it is not the weather that caused her to shiver. Oh no... how long have I been here? The girl wonders, glancing up at the sun above to judge. It has been at least a week, and still there was nothing... was she wrong? She desperately hopes so, but she pushes the thought out of her mind, feeling the gentle air beneath her and holding her aloft. She soon forgets, feeling the tranquil motion of flying and allowing it to calm her nerves.

Pensive, the girl continues flying, invisible to all sight, and she follows the little dot that is the person below.

Ninkanna's ears twitch as soon as the sound of the commotion crosses the cantina. Her violet eyes glance over and pierce the crowd, seeing the two Arcona. Her gaze isn't disdainful, her gaze isn't judging, and her gaze isn't wrathful. She just views the two, matter of factly. They will try to run, of course; it is to be expected. Yet, they ran without shooting. That was bizarre. Another thought to be thought about later.

Ninkanna pulls out her comlink in her left hand, "Master, if you're still outside, there's two Arcona that seem to be in a hurry; I not sure that I can catch them in time." She says into the comlink, running to try to intercept the two, while drawing one lightsaber in her other hand.

The lightsaber... a weapon. Yes, it is that, but it can also be a shield, and that's what Ninkanna feels as she draws it, not to attack the Arcona, but to defend if they fire at them. Regardless, they wouldn't be able to answer questions if they were felled in combat anyway.

Linnix pats the little figurine gently, then carefully places it in her belt pouch.

"Thank you. I'll take good care of her." Linnix promises Angus.

* * *

She had fallen behind. How could she have fallen behind?! Linnix nearly pushes over a few peddlers in her haste to catch up to Aelistae. She quickly spots her through the window of a store, and enters too. Linnix looks around at the things there, but with the interest of a window shopper looking at dust collectors. Aelistae, interested in the mithril shirts, stood over to one side of the shop while Linnix glances over various weapons that she'd never actually buy, but likes how they look anyway.

In the corner, slightly out of view, a glint of metal distracts Linnix. She curiously wanders over and carefully withdraws the item from its perch in the corner. The weight of the scythe in her hands nearly catches her off guard, but she is able to steady herself in time; she had thought it was just a metal quarterstaff. The handle is a beautiful sheen of silver, and looks almost like a temple pillar in its decor. Its shaft is fluted perfectly evenly, with not too many or too few grooves which actually, as Linnix felt, improves her grip on the weapon. Along the shaft is several shelves, not unlike the seams that mark between the segments of bamboo. These are spaced out evenly, and Linnix can feel that they are a perfect distance apart to hold the scythe. The bottom end of the shaft bears a capital that first extends out from the sides of the shaft to form a rifted pommel of sorts that extends beyond the end of the shaft, to a near point at the end. The top of the shaft holds an ornate spear tip, impractical for actual use, made out of the interweaving of metal wire to form what appears to be a flower bulb, not yet in bloom. The blade extends from near the top, seemingly a mere extension of one of the flutes in the shaft. The blade reaches out from the shaft, tapering to a deadly point at the end, however that's not the least of its form. The blade itself has an edge in the shape of the bottom of a bat's wing, and just from looking at it, Linnix can tell that it its serrated edge is perfectly sharp. Carved along the blade itself is an intricate design. In the beginning of the pattern, parallel to the blade's edge is two crescent moon shapes, one curving towards the bottom edge, the other curving towards the top edge. In between the points of the moons, a sideways eye stares blankly ahead, reflecting the gaze of Linnix's own eyes. This pattern continues three times along the blade, until the two crescent moons converge to a point just before the blade's tip. Under and above each eye is a simple triangle, completing the pattern.

Linnix's eyes widen as she examines the scythe. She didn't know how to wield one, but she thought it might be something she'd try, at some point.

Iskanna raises an eyebrow at Chancer, whose arrival seems rather suspicious, at least to her. Or maybe she was being paranoid again. She never knew.

Iskanna raises her hand to her mouth, thinking over the battle and her comrade's strength. Apparently she didn't prepare the best spells for their combination, but that would have to wait until the next day to remedy.

"You're very good at crowd control." Iskanna says appreciatively at Toby.

She places the bow back over her shoulder, where it stays with her backpack. The bizarre thing about that is that the bow, backpack, and her skin colour, a woody tone, are the only colours of her attire, which consists mainly of a rather unique gown. This gown appears to be made up of two halves, one which is made of a white silk, with black embroidery while the other is exactly the same, but inverted, with black silk and white embroidery. The two halves meet in the middle, separated distinctively along a seam that went from the point in the v collar line to the middle slit in the full-length skirt. Through this slit can be seen an underskirt of alternating white and black panels. In the back, the gown's two halves intertwine, blurring the distinction between the two as they merge and separate. The white silk half is on Iskanna's right side, the black on the left, which also happens to be the side she draws her bow with. The gown has relatively long and wide sleeves, the bottoms of which come past her fingertips when her arms are at her sides. The embroidered pattern in the dress is an interlay of vines and flowers and stars. The dress' waist on Iskanna is quite small, considering that she is a full grown woman, and she seems unnaturally light.

Iskanna fidgets, putting a lock of her long black hair behind her ear. "We might be close, but in which direction should we go?" She asks, "They attacked from ahead, but that doesn't necessarily mean that their base is in that direction..."

"HEEY! Let me try!" Linnix calls over the crowd that had gathered at the little game.

Mainly pushing her way through to the front of the crowd to where Xaris and Aelistae is, Linnix watches Xaris's most recent try, then steps up. Rummaging in the pouch at her belt, she pulls out 2 shiny platinum pieces. Swiftly, she tosses them into the box, then gives an over-eager spin, sending the cage twirling about its axis like it was set in a mage's wind wall.

"Ooops," Linnix says sheepishly, "Was that a bit too hard?"

Well, I'm not sure what Linnix would be after in particular... she'd be mostly window shopping.

Ninkanna nods to her master, but there is something she wants to do first. She closes her eyes, and once again, in her mind's eye, she can tentatively see the ripples of the Force. She raises her hand, and senses the waves that ripple from its motion. How do you heal? Ninkanna wonders, knowing how she rejuvenates herself, but at a loss when it comes to another individual. Testing the waters, she concentrates, causing the ocean to ripple at her hand, until she is holding a small wave at it. She carefully reaches forward, seeing the ripples that mark where Si-Di is, and touches her shoulder. The wave is released, washing through Si-Di's form. Ninkanna opens her eyes and takes back her hand, seeing if that did it.

(Attempted Heal Other; Ninkanna smiles if it worked)

Ninkanna then casually walks over to the cantina after saying, "Alright, I'll take a look."

Ninkanna turns and smiles comfortingly at Si-Di, "My full name is Ninkanna Sori, but people usually just call me Anna."

Inside, however, Ninkanna finds that she doesn't quite understand fully just what Si-Di is feeling. She hadn't encountered loss such as this before, and so she couldn't really think of anything to say or do to comfort her. Still, she feels like doing something... yet nothing comes to her mind.

Ninkanna's violet eyes examine Si-Di, seeing how worn or hurt she was. Perhaps healing the body would aid in easing the sorrow she felt... Inwardly, Ninkanna sighs; she hadn't really learned how to heal other people yet.

"Are you... alright?" Ninkanna finds herself asking Si-Di, much to her surprise.

"I mean," She quickly amends, "are you hurt at all? Were you injured inside that shuttle?"

Ninkanna's voice is gentle and kind, and in her eyes can be seen concern for this other padawan.

Iskanna tilts her head at the scenario in front of her. She would like to do more, but her training in both clerical and arcane was quite taxing, and so left her with far less in her repertoire of magic than if she only along one path. She was also hesitant to use spells that could otherwise be used for healing. Iskanna sighs, and nocks another arrow to her bow.

Taking aim at one of the other wounded men, with care to not hit her companion, Iskanna looses another shot.

Iskanna looks over her companion's shoulder, and sees the now-tentative advancing of the ambushers. Holding her bow in one hand, she traces an intricate array of symbols and circles through the air, murmuring as she does so.

Her gentle voice sings almost in a hymn, murmuring several times this phrase: "Tincmaegea en vilya pelekta ho."

At the third repeat, she raises her hand, which has now finished drawing in the air, and seems to grasp something that shimmers slightly in the air. They appear to be the outlines of two throwing daggers. With a negligent flick of her wrist, Iskanna sends the two daggers flying, sailing through the air without fail to strike the man next to the one that fell to her companion's whip.

I'm still waiting for backgrounds (and characters for some people), or something at least to provide a starting point for the character, and I have a couple exams in the very near future, so this campaign won't start until next weekend.

Just as a forewarning, that means that if I do not receive something from the three remaining initial players, I will simply have to place your character in a somewhat random location in a similarly random situation that might not even be right for your character. The going has been very slow to start, and this pace might be tolerable in game, where people's updates can be individual and so do not affect other players, but just to start shouldn't take this long.

I don't like to nag, and I certainly don't like to rush people, but when a few characters start to grow dust that's a sign of stagnancy, and there is no life in stagnancy.

Ninkanna holds the extinguisher in her left hand and steadying it with her right, aiming at the core of the flames in front of her. The heat is incredible, and she finds herself panting slightly. Yet, in spite of their efforts, the fire continues to rage on and on.

Ninkanna feels her right hand fidget, tapping on the extinguisher. It is the same feeling as when she first tried using a single lightsaber, a sort of imbalance. Ninkanna frowns slightly. She knew that they were making progress in helping the fire stop spreading, but there seemed to be more she could do. She quickly glances around for another extinguisher.

(if one is present)
Ninkanna quickly wills the same thing she did to the first extinguisher to happen to this one, for it to come to her.
(if it comes)
Ninkanna catches the extinguisher in her vacant right hand, and suddenly feels the same sense of balance as when she first wielded two lightsabers. Indeed, it was a feeling she felt whenever she wielded both her lightsabers, a sort of balance and grace that she easily could be lost in, and in which she could do many things. The silhouette of a smile touches her lips as she raises the second one, and now with the two in hand she lays it all out on the blaze in front of her.

She had not been shot at yet, and that makes Riina hesitate for just a brief moment. That could only imply that the goblins were concentrating on the others, and if the large wolf pack concentrates on a single foe, it will fall, regardless of who it is.

Riina walks around the camp, until she can directly see the other goblins. She nocks another arrow and fires at the goblin straight across from her.

(OOC: If you label the graph alphabetically along the side, and numerically along the top so her initial position is A17, she moves three squares down, and two diagonally down to the right, to F19, and is firing at the goblin at F5)

Subject: A Sigh of Relief

The woman exited the alleyway, unstopped, and mentally she breathed a sigh of relief. He had seemed to tell somehow that she was there before, and that unnerved her a bit. Oh well, she would disappear soon enough.

She casually wanders around, until she spots a vacant alleyway. She finds it considerably more difficult to ensure she is not being watched, since she can't simply fly and check on all the windows, but she still had acute senses, and paced several times through the alleyway, as though she were waiting for someone, when in actuality she was ensuring no one was looking.

In the blink of an eye, she vanishes. Just as before, she sets her bag out. Placing the elven dress in the bag carefully, she pulls out her sylvan clothing, which was little more than a silken skirt and backless and sleeveless top. With just a thought, she ends her spell, and her body slowly shifts back to her natural form, with her small stature and dragonfly wings. The invisible girl dresses, and sets her bag back along her waistband. Stretching her wings for just a moment, she takes off into the air.

The sensation of free flight after being encumbered on the ground felt so liberating for her, no matter how short an excursion she took with her elven form. It almost made her regret having to take an earthly form at all, but well, she would undoubtedly draw attention in her natural form if she was seen. Well, she didn't have to really worry about that, since no normal person would be able to see her while invisible anyway.

Ascending above the tops of the buildings, she stops at a clocktower, and sits on its roof.

Ninkanna smiles. She held the same feelings as her Master, and didn't really trust herself to just stand back and watch anyway. She looks over at the other fire extinguisher she spotted and follows suit, closing her eyes. In her mind's eye, Ninkanna can vaguely see the rippling ocean of the Force, those faint, tentative strings through space and time that connects between people and things. Mentally, Ninkanna wills it to bulge, to lift the extinguisher, and for it to flow, carrying it to her. Taking the canister, she dashes forward to help put out the fire.

(If the extinguisher doesn't come, she'll just run over and grab it, then run to the burning ship)

Ninkanna's ears twitch at the sound of the explosion, and her violet cat eyes look over to the rising smoke. Maybe you aren't the only one who was waiting for them. Ninkanna thinks briefly, placing the thought on a shelf to meditate over later. First thing was first, the people on that shuttle had to be helped, but there was something else that bothered her.

"Master, if we are noticed if we go to help, do you think that that one will be informed?" Ninkanna's gentle voice asks.

While she asks, Ninkanna's eyes survey the area, searching for fire extinguishers. Her slightly striped, dark tan fur is bristled, especially along the back of her neck, but she tries to keep herself calm, in spite of her racing heartbeat. Her short fur and cat like appearance together give her a similarity to a tabby-cat. I am afraid. She realizes, and with the realization she closes her eyes for a moment and lets herself calm down. A few thoughts go through her mind, but she places these too aside to meditate over later. Her eyes open, now tranquil and ready.

Still smiling, Linnix looks away, and blushes slightly, "I've never tried dancing before... It might take me a while to learn, but I'll do my best."

Already looking better, as though her slight depression never occured, Linnix jumps to her feet, "I can't wait! Well, sitting around isn't going to get this quest over any faster, so I guess we should pack up and get ready."

Linnix pauses for a moment, "Wierd, now I'm hungry... I'll go see if there's any leftovers from brunch. Judging from what I saw, I think there should be some."

Linnix stares blankly ahead, seeming to be very far away, but then she nods.

"They're strange, aren't they?" Linnix murmurs, "Why do dreams seem so persistent at times, but when you want to see one, it never returns?"

Linnix's head turns and she looks at Aelistae, "Last night, I was awoken three times. It was alright at first, because the dream actually stayed with me, much to my surprise, until the last awakening, and then it never came back."

"I didn't even recognize where I was initially," Linnix continues, the words just flowing from her like an unblocked waterfall, "not that it really mattered. I just felt like walking, and so I walked forward, through the many turns and alleyways. Then I noticed that I was only a little girl, so it was no wonder that it seemed to take a while. There was a break then, when I first woke up, but when I went back I had passed that maze in the city, and I was older, but still younger than I am now. The buildings and houses were all blurry and vague, except for one."

Linnix's right hand clenches, as though the motion would somehow take her back to her dream, "I could see Her through the window of that house. Then there is another break, which was the second time I was woken up. When I went back, I was inside the house, I was the same age as I am now, and She had made tea. She didn't seem concerned that I was there, and She even smiled at me, it was as though-"

Linnix stops momentarily and bites her lip, "I had only taken one sip of tea, when I was woken for the third time. It was slightly sweet, but very warm, and had a slight peppermint flavour. I tried to go back, but the dream just wouldn't come back. It was gone. She was gone."

A few tears start to fall from Linnix's eyes, and she quickly turns and rubs her sleeve across them, drying them. Her voice barely audible, Linnix murmurs, "Why did She have to go? Why did I ever leave Her?"

The sun had risen, and is already nearing its peak in the sky, but it is unnoticed by the still form below. Linnix stirs sleepily, and rubs her eyes, which are still red from crying, and have shadows below them. Unsteadily, she stands, her knees threatening to buckle and her legs hardly supporting her; she didn't get much sleep at all.

Leaning on the tree, she quietly listens to the relative silence of the plain before her. Linnix yawns, trying to wake up already. She turns around and stumbles forward, making her way back to the campsite. She could feel how alone she really was, even as she reached the campsite with the people there already lively and conversing. She ignored them; it wasn't her conversation, and it felt like she was intruding. She stumbles over to the pile of excess things, and pulls out a short sword. Swinging it negligently and feeling that it's close enough to suit her needs, she puts it in the now vacant sheath at her side. However, it takes her a couple of tries to do so. She also pulls out the bolts and places those in her pack. Just then however, she hears Kas's comment.

Her voice sounding extremely tired and even near dead, Linnix turns to the woman, "How about you get off your soapbox and toss that halo somewhere it can actually do something? Like maybe bolt your mouth shut. I don't know what world you come from, but here things aren't so black and white as your colourblind eyes see."

Linnix's tired, red eyes stare directly into Kas's ones, appearing bleak and uncaring, "I shouldn't have to remind you, but people tend to have reasons for being where they are, and often have different intentions. I'm here because I signed the contract to fulfill my sponsor's quest, NOT any things on the side that pop up. Coming to a judgment based on something that's not even a part of what the whole group was interested in is rather pathetic, and I suggest you learn to understand rather than jump on that soapbox at first chance. You think you can do that, or are those angel feathers what makes up your brain too?"

Seeing Kas's mouth open to respond, Linnix cuts her off, "By the way, I am not in the mood to chit chat, so if you want to say something, write it down somewhere to bring up later. Maybe you can tack the note on your soapbox. Don't worry, I'm sure you won't forget it then."

Not feeling hungry, and still looking rather pale, Linnix wanders off to the side of the camp, where she slumps against the side of the cave.
