Topic: A Shadow Over Drasnia Subject: A Meaty Question
Ovelia smiled back. "Well in that case, Cay..." she replied. "Exactly how worth my while are you going to make it?"
She certainly looked down on her luck. But Ovelia had a certain devious look on her face; she looked determined to take advantage of the situation...
Cay smiled at Ovelia. All things considered she had to admit she liked the girl some. The evening seemed to be improving since she left her little band, and for that she was glad. First she had found Ovelia, right where she was expecting her, and that was wonderful. Second the girl didn't deny that Thanald was staying there, which made her feel better about this mission. And third the girl seemed ready to talk, if the price was right, and Cay was relatively certain that with the amount she had in her cloak that a price could be met.
She leaned back agains the wall near the door. One hand slipped inside her expansive cloak and found the inner pocket where the bag of gold lay secreted. The other hand she pulled out of the cloak and began to inspect her fingernails, digging at the dirt in the cuticles, as if it were much more important than anything she might discuss with Ovelia.
"Well... you know I guess that would depend on how much information you have to give. You know if I pay the butcher five gold coins I expect to get a nice bit of rump roast and some ribs... not some dinky sausages. I'd also expect that meat to be fresh." She raised her eyes slowly to Ovelia's to see if she was catching on... likely the girl was, she was usually rather quick.
"Now if it's just sausages... I pay for sausages." Shrugging slightly as if it didn't matter if it were rump roast or sausages, because it was still dinner, she lowered her eyes and went back to picking at her nails, waiting to see just how much information the girl knew.

Topic: A Shadow Over Drasnia Q&A Subject: A Question of Economy...
I know how much money Cay has, and how important this is to her... however I don't really have a good grasp of how much that money is really worth.
So to my Capn: What are the going rates of some typical purchases currently?
I guess things like: A mug of ale, a loaf of bread, a nights board at the inn, a pair of boots... etc
Thanks!

Can the Centurion have a crush on Antony? Because if that's cool I wouldn't mind the position. That is of course if that is alright with everyone else?

You see it comes down to the simple fact that Scottish engineers get more business, and therefore more practice at their trade. I believe the constant flow of business has something to do with their kilts and the view provided when they bend over, which is supremely better than the view provided by most plumbers from the Bronx...

Topic: yet another movie thread... Subject: Sunshine
4 stars
I really enjoyed the sci-fi Sunshine. I hadn't heard anything about it and then my husband brought it home. I thought it was going to be one of those crappy sci-fi action pacted things he so enjoys, that the writers spend more time on making scary aliens and finding fun ways to have them kill people instead of plot. But was pleasantly surprised. The premise of the movie might be a bit far off... I really know know enough about the planets and physics and such to know if sending a GIGANTIC bomb to the dying sun and having it explode as close to the core as they can will bring the sun back... but it opened up a neat movie. I liked the way the characters developed and how the greatest challenge they faced was not space aliens, or the sun, but each other. It has some intense scenes, and I really enjoyed the cinematography they enlisted when they venture onto the other ship. Caught me off guard and actually ended up rewinding the film to make sure I had seen the half second clip that I thought I saw, so that was really enjoyable.
All in all I think it has been one of the better space movies I've seen in awhile, that haven't outright been comedies...

Kudos to you Loki... another good history post. That sounds like it would be a fascinating class you just took. I've actually done more with Greek history, compared to Roman (especially Roman Republic). I'm glad to see we might have someone to go to with some Roman questions... I'll be sure to shoot you any I have

Rome... oh...
I own both seasons of HBO's Rome and LOVE them, was actually wondering just this past week if I could do a game for it, so I'm totally in, if you'll have me.
I'm so excited!! Would love to play a Pullo inspired character, he's the best. Although if Mark Antony is going to be as hot as he was in the showI might just have to have my char be gay
Not that Mark was, but he could oogle him... it might be funny... hmm... *grin*
