Topic: Season of the Witch
Subject: The Healing Powers of Mirros

Someone had wrapped her in heavy black velvet. She couldn’t move, but her breath clung to the velvet and stuck to her with warm moisture, and distantly voices tried to come through but they were muffled. Time went on, but she was not sure how much. Finally the velvet was pulled from her and for a moment her world was assaulted with a rush of bright white light, and in it she would later claim that she heard Mirros speak to her, whispering words that she tried to cling to but could never quite make out.

Then the world came back and she found herself staring up at the Wild Man. He was speaking to her, but the words were just as hard to focus on as Mirros’ had been. She sat up and brought her hand to her head, trying to recall how she had gotten on her back in the first place. Before the memory came back though, she noticed the blood. It stained her pure white robes, mingling with grass and dirt stains. She gasped and searched her body with her fingers, looking for the source of the blood, but she wasn’t injured. The blood was not hers. Her eyes, terrified blue orbs, turned back to the Wild Man.

He was saying her name she realized. She also realized that he was not covered in blood. Had he attacked them? Brought them here to slaughter them? Quickly she pulled back from him with a hiss, the terror rising in her again. If he had and she was still uninjured he would kill her too now, or perhaps he had killed them to get her… she almost wished he would just kill her if that was the case.

For a moment she pulled her eyes off him to look around, to see if she was right and the others were dead. But the scene of carnage that displayed itself around her was not congruent with that assessment. There were large hairy creatures on the ground with her friends. Then it hit her. The creature coming out of the woods, coming at her, Rose pushing herself over Thealora in order to save her from the attack.

Rose! Thealora clambers to her feet at the thought and searches out the fallen figures to find the red haired follower of Lirros. As soon as she finds the woman, however, she falls back to the ground.

“No! no no no…” Thea repeats dismally as she lays her hand upon the broken breast plate, watching the blood poor through her fingers as she does. “No! Please… don’t let her die!”

The young woman closes her eyes and reaches her unseeing gaze up toward the heavens. Rose’s warm blood rushes through her fingers as she begins to pray. “My benevolent Mistress… do not let this woman suffer any longer from the pains of this battle. She offered her life in return for mine, please hear my cries for her now. Find it in your heart to bring mercy upon her, see her safely back to us. I beg of thee, I am but a humble servant of you Lady Mirros and promise to remain so for my life… please… grant me the gift of healing for my sister here…”

((OOC: If she manages to heal Rose, which I am assuming she will be able to accomplish to some extent at least, she will continue to go around laying hands on those who will accept her doing so and praying for the power of healing until she has pestered her Goddess enough (runs out of spells) for the day. I imagine there will be a moment of overt blubbery when she heals Rose, and will likely seem a bit embarassed to place her hands on Eofara if/when that comes up.))

It is a common misreading of the digital read out that 'Paper Jam' means that there is paper somehow jammed in the mechanical workings of the printer. In fact it is a request from the printer. It really does not like eating paper in the dry state it normally comes in. What you are supposed to do is get some gelatin, some paper and a high powered blender and make a jam out of the paper. That way the printer will more easily digest the paper that it inevitably eates, and will even lubricate its inner workings at the same time.

Why do I get my best ideas when I'm driving or at 2am?

Video games? Ehhh... although I must admit this is kind of hard. I do, as ashamed as I am to admit it, kind of enjoy the Resident Evil movies. And they are based on a video game. I am, however, very proud to say that I have completly avoided the Laura Croft movies (and video games, which since I don't play them should go without saying but...).

Is Yahtzee going to make a movie? Because that would be like a movie based on video games... right? That I would go to see. I don't even play the silly things he reviews and I enjoy watching them.

Oh! Or maybe a movie about the Rabbids! ooooooOOOOOOoooooooo that would be cool! I wanna see that!

Um... yeah... except for Resident Evil I'm going to have to go with games off of movies. They stink too, but somehow I can avoid the games better than the movies most of the time...

Hmmmm...

Movies with plot... or movies with action?

Subject: Assignment...

Alright boys and girls...

I have decided to leave the combat training bit as it is. However, we have noted the players concerns over how it went and will strive to improve this on the next go around.

In the light of the game, and really all gaming here, I feel it is best to let it stand and simply move forward. Getting too tied up on particular rules and instances of something not going the way we would like clogs up a game and often destroys it more than it helps. Noting your concerns is certianly acceptable, encouraged in fact, but now it is time to move on.

I would like to take a brief pause, however... and thank you all for still respecting each other in your posts about this. That helps to build an environment here at the Inn where we all feel comfortable and want to continue to play. So... give yourselves a pat on the back for that...

Now... continuing on!

You will notice that I've posted a very short post for everyone. (Except our newest student, and just hold on I'll get to you in a minute dear )

This week I would like you all to work on a dream sequence. Take your character from the field to dinner or straight to their room as you see fit, have them contemplate the day and then I would like them to all go to sleep and dream something.

I rather enjoy doing dream sequences myself and I think that this exercise will provide you with some interesting feedback into your own character. One of the delightful aspects of playing here compared to a tabletop is the ability to really delve into your character, to focus on the Role Play aspect instead of just the combat scenes.

For style... please put the dream part of your post in italics and bracketed by the special characters below.

EXE:

She watched the candle flicker and did not even realize that she had fallen asleep.

~*~

The candle must have been doused, she thought to herself. Perhaps by the water. She could hear the water, hear it dripping but in the darkness she could not determine from where it came. Blindly she reached out with her hands trying to find her way...

~*~

With a loud crash she fell to the floor.

Redwyrm Dormitories
Week 1: Monday night

There was little to talk about after the defeat in the ‘Death Yard’. The first day at the school had proven to be a difficult one. Dinner was more gruel, and the three brothers that had given them such difficulties at lunch were not present. Those who still had an appetite ate quickly and in silence, while those not willing to face another bowl of gruel simply went to their rooms.

Just as the sun was setting a bell peeled out over the campus and the professor on duty that evening made the rounds ensuring that each student was properly put away in the tiny cube assigned to them.

((OOC: before posting please see the note I have up in the Q&A about what is expected of your next post... thanks!

We all know I'm not the greatest DM and I can't even convince myself to start up the freeform game I've got in mind, let alone try and do a DL.

So get tapping Ion!
