"8 of the giant Orcs fully outfitted for battle."

So what kind of Outfit? We can see the armor and that will effect the type of attack we use. Without further discription I would invision studded leather armor which can be pierced by arrows easier than metal plate. They would resemble Vikings.

I clarified a bit about the "True Seeing" in the walls of the castle and so I posted how it can effect our magic.

It has taken away one of Ulthok's best attack modes. Time to try other methods.

Ulthok moved through the door and into hall, Peri had nestled on his shoulder. As they moved Peri said, “Well you look much better as yourself.” The mage paused and looked back as party started in, each transformed back as they passed the doors.

The magic in the walls was dissolving the disguises. Then Ulthok noticed Peri sitting on his shoulder, “Peri..did you change back?” The little dragon tensed,”No, I should be invisible still!” Ulthok sent a charge of will into his ring, but nothing changed. “Oh… this isn’t good. “

The Halfling looked back to the party, “Don’t waste your Invisibility spells.. they don’t seem to work. Turning back he head down the left side of the hall. A few more steps down the hall and he froze as a set of doors opened and out rumbled 8 of the giant Orcs fully outfitted for battle. There would be no fooling them.

Subject: LOL.............

That's what happens when I try to sneak on at work and post fast.

HALL ...shesh..that wasn't even close was it???

We'll just keep posting and build on what has already been written. When Tann posts the map we can see how the Orcs are spread out. Ulthok was headed down the left side so it would make sense that he will target Orcs coming down that side. I would guess that Cor would suggest an attack by telling rest which side to take. Then from map we can tell which Orc to attack by number.

So far it seems both Barrell and Jessie are attacking the lead Orc. We have a fire behind the Orcs that may make them run faster at us. These guy will take a lot of damage to two on might be good as long as they don't hit each other.

There are enough Orcs to go around as long as we don't all attack the same one.

I wonder if the fire in the will just attract more Orcs? It may hamper the Orc retreat but it also prevents our advance.

Just Saying........

Ulthok is pretty good at hack and slash too, but why risk a purfectly good meat shield like Lady Jessie if a quick Cone of Cold would turn them into coldcuts?

Besides with just wee bit of tactics we can single out Orcs and not have everyone just attack the lead Orc. We will have enough time to random hack when we are the ones surprised.

Seems that our crazy Dwarv is rushing the Orcs, so battle on!

Can we have a map to show the Orcs by position in the hall and numbered so we can direct and describe our attacks better?

I'd hate to cast an area effect spell with the Raging Redhead caught in the middle. If Ulthok stays with melee attack then I can say which is his target or targets.

Ok, I want ahead and did the shooting at the ASREV, was still debate the sence of it, but the kid does get caught up in the momenet. The time it takes Asher to get off the tail section and down the ramp could be enough for Wyatt to regain most of his senses.

If Wolf want to remove the armor and put these guys in the holding cell Ash will be there to help.

Adrenalin coursed the Asher and trying to site a second shot on the guard. The kid saw his first shot had knock back the guard, then Miss Willow made quick move of her hand from her head to the guards ankle. Amazingly the guard crumbed out of Asher’s sights.

Shifting to take in the action he saw the White coated man move and blue glow shot out in front him and Wyatt, the Marshall and his captive also crumbed to the ground……. The old army officer jumped on the other guard as his gun fired knock taking three shots to his body but taking the guards with him to the ground……... The guard drew his side arm and bolted for the ASREV.

ASREV ramp started to close as it prepared to lift off leaving it’s crew members behind. The kid swung to find another target and he saw Wolf charge out of nowhere and into the crowd. The mechanics guns roared and the guard was knocked to the ground.

The kid’s heart was pounding as anger continued build. The comm opened as Wolf called to John, “John, Wolf we are secure here” After giving him a quick rundown of the action Wolf turned to matters at hand.

“So what’s the processor look like, can we get it out fast and back to the ship? I have a feeling we would be better off this rock ASAP”

John quickly replied, "I haven't the slightest what the processor looks like quite yet, I've been a bit preoccupied. Right now, however, you need to get everyone away from the ship. I believe it's just become a very, very large and immovable target."

Light glinted off the pilot’s canopy as he sees the ASREV lifting and circled slightly…….slipping the GRZ 1 to full auto the kid and the gun both vented on the rising ship… ”Blamm…Blamm…. Blamm…Blamm….Blamm………..

The ASREV continued its ascent the kid knew the GRZ wouldn’t likely cuase damage but it might be a distraction.
Scanning back to the crowd he saw Tess had White coat and his boys covered… the lady “Courier” was tending Wyatt and Willow was next to Haverlock. Shouldering the GRZ the kid heading back to the access port and rapidly made his to the hold and out the ramp to help those on the ground.

After his exchange with the Bard Tohmas chose to examine the natural wonders of the river, mud and gazed for long moments into the depths of the pool of water, but found no clues! There seemed no good reason to stay so it was time to return to the Toothless Dragon.
“There seems to be no track or trace of other thing to seek. We should leave now and take more treasure back. Willem,… the Cleric and Vincent have lightened the chest of human gold. You and I should be able to easily carry it back the ship’s crew waiting outside the ruins. Will you help me carry it out?”
Tohmas stepped to the chest closing it’s lid and waited on Willem. The Shaman want to return quickly to the ship.

It will take Asher a couple of minutes to climb back through the ship to head out to help.

With the dorm set up in the tower maybe we should move everyone there. Did it have holding cells in the security area?

Then when we fix the Roc we take off and send help to pick them up????

Finally the doors opened and Weaver lead the way into the castle. The fighting behind them was closing too quickly as accented by the Elven arrows a\that whizzed past the bard now in Black Robe and looking too much like the enemy. As the doors closed behind them Ulthok and Valene moved quickly to check traps. They found non but there was an inner set doors that radiated magic force that would detect the true identify of those that passed through. That force seemed to emanate from many directions and it was evident that their disguise would no longer serve them.

Turning to the party he said, “I fear the door is covered by spells of detection and to move beyond will reveal the truth of us.”

Cor stepped up,"So, this is where we lose the disguises. Unless anyone can see a way too keep them..." Turning to the doors he pushed them open and looked into the interior."I would like to head towards the heart of the castle. I feel like it would be a more direct route to our goals. Would any of you guys rather go down the other hallway?"

Ulthok shook his head as he thought that sounded too simple, but Cor was his leader and there was no time to waste. “ Well you’ve only got me killed once so far… so down the middle we go.” With his senses on full alert for traps the Halfling stepped past the Knight’s Cleric and once more took his place in the lead.

Down each of the corridors could be seen what appeared to be rooms or chambers. The mage knew each would need to be checked. “Peri keep your eyes peeled and listen for any fey or dragon. We need to find the White Dragon Queen. These rooms will hold dangers so be careful.” As he moved down the hall he headed to the first chamber to his left and hoped the others would follow.

Well since Tann posted about Ulthok letting everyone know our disguises will be useless we should move ahead dropping the veil. I vote turning east and checking that hall. A post of Cor leading us in will move us. Picking a direction will just add adventure. Also I don't think they would have a straight path through the doors to the Dragon Queen.

Subject: For The Price Of A Song.......

Raising an eye brow the Shaman listened to the Bard.

"Thomas, we did indeed come seeking treasure. But there is more to treasure than gold. Information can be valuable as well. We know where this gold is located and that it is more than we can haul. Perhaps I am wrong about it being guarded by a dragon but are you willing to take that chance with only us few, inexperienced Seekers to stand against it if I am right? We can return and either gather supplies to come back or we can sell the location to others for a tidy profit with no manual labor required."

As the Bard seemed to smile devilishly Tohmas replied, "Information is what our sponsor has, gold is what he wants. Bards can turn information into story and song, being paid for the entertainment, but the Inn Keeper hasn't the time for such foolishness. Proof of this booty is what we need, not just a confused parchment and a new song.... We need to make haste and return a portion of this so that we can better prepare to return and find...or learn...more. If you fear dragons then the longer we tarry the greater the danger."

"As for our Ranger, he is wise to hold the high ground so that others can explore in greater safety."

Tohmas listened as they other discussed the meaning of the parchment. He was amused as some now dropped their coins.

"Did we not come seeking treasure? Now that we have found it are we to leave it and return empty handed?"

"If you are scared of the Dwarv and Orc gold then we should dump out the Orc gold and use the chest to lighten the load to carry out the human gold. Even if we are chased after we leave, with the treasure in two measures we would better chanced to return with something."

As the members turn to listen he continued.

"If we take it back to our sponsor it will show him we are of good faith and not so greedy as the dog that drops his bone in the river as he tries to steal the bone from his reflection......Our share of the gold will buy us better supplies to continue this recovery."

Tohmas continued to stand guard with Crow as he waited for a response.

Subject: Too Many....

There were too many Pirates to be the current Crew.

I think we should dump the Orc gold and split the human gold between the two chests. We then take those back because they will be easier to carry. Remember a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.

We don't want to go back empty handed with only a story of gold.

Subject: The Gold............

I don't think this a Dragon lair. There are no dragon foot prints and the mud would easily show them. I think we should take the human gold and go back to Mad Dog. Then come back as leveled up to get the dwarven gold. Save the Orc gold for last.

I see the parchment as saying giants in the mountains and Orcs in the south. The dragon burned the forest around the city.

The writer is gone and we don't know where are how. He was trapped and used his ring to feed himself. He may have tried to swim out after being blocked in when the city was saked by the dragon or the Orc or the giants trying to get the gold he stole. His fault the city was destroyed.
