Subject: Weapon Damage....


Well I was figuring that a spaceship had a hull and windows that were VERY strong to repel space debris and rock when flying at high speed. But would the odds be better for a random hit and damage to interior system if a few shots were fired through the closing door? Ricochets and such hitting pipes and electrical things. Those systems would not be made of the same hard material as the hull. I know it would require luck ( or applied points) but it seems to me a better change to damages that bird without having antiaircraft weapons.

To that point would the ramp have to be closed before the craft could lift off? I'm thinking that if it is closing as it rises up that would put Asher in a good spot to shoot a burst into the interior and hope for some kind of critical system damage. It seem a normal move for Asher to open fire on the ASREV, but he knows enough about ships and systems to try for a weak spot.

But we do have one, a raging dwarve, that should smell bad enough. He could step between and glare it down. One of the Orc speakers could tell him go do his job, we don't have time to kill him and serve our master.

Valene had rushed in at what seemed the last minute. As Ulthok had worked to relay a plan to the party she had hovered near. He had seen her fidgeting and noticed she occasionally rolled her tongue and he saw the stud she now had pierced there.

When the teams were set Valene was going with Ulthok in the teleport. Stepping up to Ulthok she leaned in and brushed a kiss on Ulthok's lips. "Keep the tall ones safe, but keep yourself safer," she whispered for his ears alone then steeled herself for the battle ahead.

Smiling the mage reached into pouch and produced a ring. “Wear this to keep yourself safer, a Ring of Invulnerability.” He slipped on her finger and winked. “ It will go nicely with your new jewelry.”

Valene and Ulthok gathered with Cor and Rayne and proceeded to teleport to the castle.

Peri heard Ulthok thoughts and she saw the party start to move toward the door. Remaining invisible she started to fly down from her hiding place to join Ulthok. “ but if you can get there fly over and help that Lady Paladin off to our side…. A quick puff in the Orc’s face may give the chance she needs to break free…Then back to us”

Peri looked over and saw the struggle, but she knew that there were other casters about and if she drew too close she may get caught in a spell. She hated to leave the Lady to that ugly creature so instead she cast “Emotion” on the Paladin to give her Courage. (This emotion causes the creatures affected to become berserk, fighting with a +1 bonus to the attack dice, causing +3 points of damage, and temporarily gaining 5 hit points. The recipients fight without shield and regardless of life, never checking morale.) Peri hoped the Lady may yet prevail. Quickly she sensed which of the Orcs was Ulthok and flew to purch hidden on his shoulder.

The group cautiously descended the stair two by two. Tohmas carried a torch to help light the way for those that didn’t have sight for the dark. Gold coin littered the steps and the party collected them as they moved down into the craven. They soon came to a landing where they saw the waters gather into a pool. As their eyes adjusted they were able to see more, some a bit unnerving. There were three chests holding gold at the bottom, at table held a wand and guntlets. But what bothered Tohmas was a parchment that was held by four skeletal hands.

As Crow drew his bow to prepare to defend the party Tohmas called out, “Don’t touch that parchment.. those hands may be those of the last to try to claim it. There may be an enchantment upon it. Perhap the text can be copied to study.” Tohmas also drew his bow to assist Crow.

Just a quick thought.

Don't touch the parchment with your hands!

It may be enchanted and that is why there are hands on it. The only way to get away is to cut off your hands. Chewing off thumbs didn't work.

I'd say to copy the text and study that. Use stones or even gold pieces to hold it flat so it can be read.

The party has committed to the mission. The members are veiled and mages teleport to the castle. Appearing on the steps the party find themselves in an active battle zone. Other teams had alsp teleported in but non seemed to have disguised themselves and are now engaged in heated combat.

Off to the side a Paladin is in the death grip of a huge Orc and one of the turns well another grabbed their arm to keep the party on task. As they started to move forward Ulthok project his thoughts to contacted his familure.

“Peri, we just appeared at the top of the stairs, Weaver is in the Blake Robe and we behind him… We need to get through those doors, so be ready to join us…..but if you can get there fly over and help that Lady Paladin off to our side…. A quick puff in the Orcs face may give the chance she needs to break free…Then bsck to us”

As they looked around Ulthok used the movements to disguise his casting of “Confusion” over the huge Orcs guarding the door. Weave may need all the help he can get to get them to step aside.

Seeing that Val posted that she pulled on the guard that moves Asher's target. Asher fired when the guard pushed.

He would have normally sighted mid body (chest)to allow for max target. He would expect the guard to knock back from the impact and would be prepared to follow in the sights for a second shot. Now the tricky part is how Roger decides the action flows. The bullet impact on guard will effect direction of fall as will the Aikido move. The guard would be starting his lean and be in motion which cleared Willow enough for Asher to fire. I'd think that bullet impact and wrist twist happen at about the same instant. This improves Willows leverage on the guard and increases the effect of her move. Holding his arm impedes the backward motion but increases the body spin. That spin / twist should really open up Willow's target area for the pin prick. So that guy goes down and gets knocked out.

The percussion of Asher's shot would likely draw the attention of the prone guard causing him to look up to see where the shot came from. That hesitation giving Havelock a moment to dive on the guy and possibly prevent him from shooting.

Because Asher was using his scope he'd have to rifle on single shots. I was just wondering if he'd been able to resight and shoot again in the same round?

Picture him hitting the guard (provide the dice let him hit), guard staggers and then is hit again and then maybe again. That would push him away from Willow and draw attention. (who knows might even find a chink in the armor.)

LV-426, Hunkered down behind the thruster house of Rocinante, 8:21 am PT


When armored guard grabbed Miss Willow the Kid took his aim off the Marshall and sighted on him.

As the crowd became restless a rock was bounced off the Marshall’s head. The man raised his gun yelling, “GORRAM HELL! …………Scrag them. Property damage! NOW!”

The kid heard the Marshall give the order to shoot his friends, “Jien Ta Duh Guay “ (like hell!) rumbled from Asher throat.

The guard holding Willow roughly shoved her the ground. The guard didn’t know hurting Miss Willow was worst move of his life.

As the guard turn his gun on the crown Asher opened fire on him hoping at least to knock him off his pins.

Rage still consumed the Kid as he roared, “Lio Coh Jwei Ji Neong Hur Ho Deh Yung Duh Buhn Jah
J’wohn.” (Stupid son of a drooling whore and monkey)

Subject: I'll Help With Ideas If Wamt Me To...


I'd be glad to share ideas and give comment if you'd want me to. I try to think of this like a movie and picture stuff in my head. I read the posts, the Q&A and review my character stuff. Also think about how you believe your character will react.

If think too hard you will fry your brain, so just story tell!
This is all make beleive so don't worry about making a mistake. We learn from what we do and build on that, so don't try to be perfect, JUST HAVE FUN!!!

Remember this is just a game and games are supposed to be FUN!

Now that makes more sense.

Any movement needs to be disguised as reaction to appearing.

Looking around and waving of hands could look natural for something appearing into the middle of a fight.

I'd say we've seen enough Orcs to know how they sound and move so we could imitate something close. Guttural grunt and growls. This ain't our first time to the rodeo.

Does it seem odd that the water is flowing into the pool and the pool is not overflowing?

Does it seem odd to hand bone hands and no body?

Does it seem odd to have coin on the stair, are they going up or spilled going down?

If we decide to take the gold out, I'd think we try one chest at a time, with two caarrying and the rest guarding. I bet the cion were spilled by being recovered by it guardian or guardians. Leave two at the top to guard the chest while rest go back for the next. And so on.

Just some thoughts.

Stop trying to scare the children!

Now does anyone else have a spell the won't draw attention?

Ulthok has Stone to Mud and could drop the Orc's feet out from under it. Then stop the spell and trap it in the rock.

But it would have to wait a round, he is casting Confusion on the Orcs by the doors in the first round.

Peri could cast confusion on the big Orc holding the Paladin or Tasha's Uncontrollable Hideous Laughter, but that take a couple of rounds to work completely.
