Are you good with joining Ash and Willow in their daily classes?

Over 15 days even a simple one session every day would add to both Ash and Willow's skill base. Easy enough for Fu Sheng to judge what would be good for them. He might have a good laugh at the recorded lessons and then start to add the little improvements to stance, move and such.

Subject: Odd Feeling........

After the troubled times the party had faced in their travels it was a relief to travel with Cor through his lands and enjoy the kindness of his people. To spend nights in friendly homes and warm beds was delight. But two nights into their trip the dream came again. The failed spell seemed to have a lingering effect or result. The dreams felt odd; there wasn’t fear of danger but a pull to those eyes.

The next night was uneventful and on the four day they came to Citadel . To their amazement they were greeted as expected guests. They are summoned to appear before the Queens of the surrounding lands. The nobility treated them great fare sharing news and honoring them for their quest. A grand meal followed the audience with the Queens.

After the meal the party was lead to their rooms to stow their gear. The mage wanted to know more about what may cause his dreams. Ulthok told the others that he want to visit the local magic shops to purchase more of items he would need to work the new spell he had acquired. In truth he wanted to find out more about the “Find Familiar” spell and what may be the effects of a failed spell. The Halfling wandered the streets of Citadel. He was guided to libraries where texts and paper were stored. He visited shops where he talked to owner on spell lore and what could happen if the wrong material were used. Although none of the shop owners told him what would happen he noted that they seemed smile and some even chuckled when he mentioned the dreams.

Still disstatified Ulthok made his way back to his quarters, but all the time he felt he was being watched.

Subject: Asher's duties?

Well I see Ash as the wrench monkey in the engine room. He has a talent to take things apart and put them back together but he's not an engineer to figure out modifications. He would enjoys just working wih John and Wolf to keep busy and learn more.

I can see that he'd hang on John stories about parachuting and wing suits. That is just sort of thing Asher would rush into.

My posts will have Ash spending time helping Wolf and John, you guys just sort use that to have him around. If want him crawling through the boat to string cables, tearing down stuff so new parts can be put on, then go with it.

I was also have him down more with Willow and now it could go deeper with Eol's character helping to advance the training. We have a Master now to lead our workouts.

The study and the nightmare had drained the mage and sweet sleep enveloped Ulthok. As the night sweat cooled a tender touch replace the fearful vision. Soft lips and warm small fingers pleasantly drew the mage from his slumber. As he lay there the now familiar scent of the beautiful female Halfling filled his head as he felt her nails slide down his chest. Valene giggled softly as her moist soft lips brushed along the strong jaw line and down Ulthok’s neck. The mage’s breathing became deeper and faster as caressing fingers found and stimulated the Halfling to passion. The remainder of the night was filled with laugher and giggles as the she cleric had her way with the mage showing him a magic of her own.

As the dawn crept in Valene left the mage to his thoughts. Ulthok once again let sleep roll over him. A smile firmly imbedded on his face.

A rooster's crow heralded the sun as a new day presented itself to the party. Ulthok rose and packed then joined the others for a morning meal. The Halfling ordered stacks of steaming buckwheat cakes smothered in butter and maple syrup, sausages, fruit and cold buttermilk. The other seemed to wonder where all that food was going and were that appetite came from. Valene smiled as she watched the mage devour the breakfast.

Wolf looked up, "Go to it then. You need to reset the circuit as soon as you are done. Back panel, flip the switch with the orange showing. It a safety precaution, so it don't fry you inside out." He could not do two things at once and he knew that Asher needed to fix the mistake in save face in his own mind.

Asher finished putting the wiring back into place and rigged the jumper cables. He ran over the circuit box and opened it up. Sure enough, there was the orange next to the circuit breakers, except there were four. He called out to Wolf but the big man was engrossed in his own work so Asher reached up and flipped them all.

As the kid flipped the switches he hears the pilot voice came over the com again.

“Alright boys, it’s lookin’ like we’re gittin’ to try that Immelmann after all. I’m following her up with split-s, so make sure to watch our hydraulics and stabilizers so we ain’t going up in a purty show of fire and shinies.”

Asher moved to shadow Wolf, he figured he could learn more by watching the man in action. The kid was a more than a fair mechanic, he could tear a mule apart and assemble it again in the dark, but that was easy compared to knowing what fix when things went bad; that sort of thing took time and experience. Asher had felt the meaning behind Wolf’s words and knew the man hadn’t totally lost trust in him. Ash would now prove the second chance would be well used.

The ship’s engineer moved rapidly to adjust the systems to support what the pilot had asked. The kid followed Wolf’s actions as he set and readjusted the hydraulics and stabilizers . When the ship responded with amazing agility to the pilots touch Asher smiled to himself. “That is so cool.”

Ulthok had left the main room early after spending some good time challenging their leader in a few duels of dice. The mage and cleric had long enjoyed the game, to them it was more the bragging rights instead of the wager.

Taking his leave Ulthok gathered his things and returned to his room. Making himself comfortable the mage open his Tome of Magic and let his mind relax so that he set to memory a set of spells that seemed to draw him and could prove useful to the party.

The evening slowed and the Halfling appeared to sleep or perhaps in a light trance. It was a familiar ritual. In time the study and rest took its course and the mage indeed pasted into restful sleep. But that sleep did not stay restful. Dark images crept into his mind.

Ulthok's room took on a slight eerie glow that centered around the mage as he slept. Glimpses of scaly flesh entered his dream. Dark eyee peering from a reptilian face pulled at the mage. Through the depths of his sleep he mumbled, "No.... can't be....No....Green...Scales...No.....What do you want?.."

The glow fades and the mage continues to slumber.

As Ulthok finished the last of his tankard Cor spoke, “"Master Weaver, perhaps ye could spin us a yarn that we have na heard before. I trust the townsfolk could use a wee bit of cheering bout now,"

As Weaver pondered the proposal Ulthok rose from the table.

“Well my friend as much as I enjoy a good story, I need to retire and renew my spells.” Reaching into his pocket the mage pulled a copper and set it before the Cleric of Odin, "You win again, here’s our usual wager. Have a pleasant evening.” The Halfling bowed to friend and left to go study.

Wyatt’s voice seemed to ooze from the comm. “Wolf...I need that system back online. Be a good fellow an' see to it, won'tcha?"

Asher’s heart sank as he realized he’d pulled the wrong shunt.

“Wolf.. get the beacon off….. there’s a set of jumpers in the tool box to fix what I pulled.” The kid ran to the box and in short order returned with the clamp-ons.

“Here .. this’ll bring the line back up... Kora believed in being ready… she’d showed me a lot work’n on the gear..guess I need some more time with wiring. “

Better to educate than to punish! Who knows when John rolls a critical fumble and need help. When you need firepower instead of tech power, who ya gonna call?

Ulthok knew that Cor saw through to his true intent and the mage smiled.

“ Yes mother, you’re right as usual…… Then let us dine now and I’ll take my leave after another tankard or two.”

Looking to Valene, “ Perhaps this old curmudgeon would enjoy some games of cards or dice to fill the evening.”

With a sigh, Ulthok took Valene’s hand, "I should spend my time in my room to prepare for other trials we may soon face…………. Great googly moogly, who’d have thought we meet a beholder here and we are not near the worst of it.”

Subject: Out And About....

As the battle wound down the party regrouped and started helping the survivors gather their belongings. Ulthok and Valene passed among the people give healing and aid as they fond need. Rayne had stopped Ulthok, she’d remembered how the Mage had aided Valene to rid her of the grime she had to endure as the slave to the giants. The gore from the exploded Orc seemed more than simple water could remove. The simple cantrip of “clean” was challenged to help but the magic and the water Rayne had tried to used seemed to allow the mess to be flushed off the rangers body and clothes.

The party watched as the soldiers disposed of the bodies then the band moved forward under the guard of the local security force. Ulthok seemed to now sense that these men and their leader may not be the most noble of protectors.
Entering the town Ulthok followed Cor to the Inn, Valene joined them for a few tankards of local ale. After a while Cor addressed the group, "Any who wish can check out the town and its establishments. We will spend the night here and continue in the morning. If one of you would be so good as ta see about selling a few of our collected items. I am headed over to the refugee camp to see if there are any that need healing or saving."

Raising an eyebrow to Valene nodded, “Let’s see if there is a market for some of those items.”

The pair adjourned to the streets with the sack of holding to see if they could sell some of the items. As the two walked the town they found there wasn’t a pawn shop and that most of the merchants had little money to spend on items. The conversations though proved interesting.

(O.O.C. Now we’re assume a lot, Tann we can drop the rest if you want us to.)
While at the metal smith Ulthok heard the survivors had to sell their wagons to pay to stay in the refugee camp. The woman behind the counter said, “Those poor women were destitute.”

Ulthok thanked the woman for her time and left, Valene nearly had to run to keep up with him. Storming down the street the mage vented, “That man, he is suppose to be a leader, a protector. He’s a sham.”

(O.O.C., assuming Mischief writes something about questioning Ulthok.)

“The women were supposed to have their stay paid, I gave the Captain enough coin to see to that. I don’t care much what folk do to evens, but there is no need to steal from innocents.”

(O.O.C., Assuming Valene agrees. )

“Let’s find this Captain and see if he may not be too old to learn new tricks. “ The two inquired to the Captain’s barrack’s and found the tent he was using. The pair hatched a sting that would relieve the Captain of his ill gotten gains.

(O.O.C. Valene can write on how she distracts the captain.)

Separating from Valene the mage willed a bit of spirit into his ring and disappeared. While the female Halfling Cleric kept the Captain occupied Ulthok searched the tent.

(O.O.C., Valene spots the coin pouch on the Captain and can pickpocket it and signal Ulthok.)

Ulthok saw the simple move as the talented she thief pinched the coin pouch back. Sliding up near the man the mage cast a cantrip of gnats. As a swarm of the small bugs started to gather around the Captain’s head Ulthok, approached. “Captain, I hope those poor woman have been cared for. I would hate to think of the side effects of a selfish act.” The human bearly heard all the mage said as he swatted wildly at the bugs buzzing his face. “ You know I hear honey draws bees, shit draws flies, I wonder why those gnats seem to find you so endearing.”

With that Ulthok bowed slightly to Valene and the two walked away. The making their way to the refugee village and they sought out the women. Moving from each to each Ulthok saw to they all received enough of the coin to regain their property and to care for their children, at least for a while.

Returning to the Inn Ulthok told Cor that the selling trip proved no more successful in this town either.
The mage then asked their leader if he might cast his spell upon him so that Ulthok might replace his spells in an hour without needing to study all night.

(O.C.C., assuming Cor does.)

Ulthok takes a room and excuses himself from Valene. “If you would care to wait I would be pleased to dine with you later. Perhaps we might find some games of skill and chance to enjoy too.”

(O.C.C., I’ll submit an amended list of spells for our leg of the journey. I’ll let Mischeif fill what fun and games the two Halfling may attempt.)
