Gee all I see is a Cleric and a Mage. Very skilled at some valueable traits that have helped this grand group. Now there might be a few handling fees and carrying costs, but hey that's just business, right?

I printed the map and got most of it figured out. So it good.

K. you may have missing the escape, but the adventure continues. I've indicated that Ulthok is headed to the Rising Moon. He'll take a room there, as much as he'd like a drink, he'll take a bath first. After that he'll join the other in the common room for food drink and fun. Cantrips of Clean just don't measure up to hot bath. Ulthok may be rouge, but he is a civilized rouge.

Is that a Bordello on the North East road?

Tann, maybe a brief decription of shops would be handy.
There seems to beplaces to sell our extra goods and purchase new supplies.

Did we ever deside if Haila's book was a magic book or a prayer book?

The party made their way into Gygax. Ulthok deemed that in this area any settlement with two Inns or more gets to be called a city. Maggot had mentioned an Inn called The Rising Moon so that was his destination. Thoughts of food, drink and friends kept his pace brisk. The inside of a cheerful common room was a pleasure sorely missed.

As the party passed through the streets, Valene slipped up next to Ulthok. Entwining her fingers in his she slowed his walk, bending him near she whispered,"I want you to dance with me. It's been too long since I've met someone who could match me. Are your fleet feet up to the task?"Her breath was warm and gentle on his neck, a smile gleamed in his eyes as she tried to slip away. Ulthok was still holding her hand and deftly raised her arm spinning her in smooth pirouette. Releasing her hand he made slight half bow. As her eyes caught his, the thief mouthed, “Done”.

Yes it was good to be out of that mountain. Now what other adventure may await at the Rising Moon?

Tann, can you darken or sharpen the red lettering? I make out alot of it but not all of it. Well all of the lettering could be a bit sharper. It may be my computer too.

Welcome back K, now Valene can get Ulthok drunk and then take advantage of him.

With the party secured to Maggot the bard made his way through the cave mouth into the sunlight. Ulthok was waiting for a spell of invisibility to settle over the once “Old Man”, but nothing happened.

As their eyes adjust to sun, the sight of a great Blue Dragon sleeping in the middle of the bridge was now all they need see. Their destination was occupied. Ulthok tightened his talons into Maggot’s should to both secure his hold but also improve his link to Maggot.

To Ulthok’s dismay he heard Maggot address the dragon.
“Well mighty blue worm, was it you who feasted upon the guardians of the mountain bridge?”

The Halfling had become use to the odd ways of the bard; he had sensed there was knowledge amidst the chaos so he held his tongue. He knew it was in for a penny, in for a pound.
When the dragon reveled the Shadow Wraith it was “game on”.

Maggot then whispered to the party, “Good friends keep your word now if you have ever not kept your word before. Keep yourselves hid and out of sight but be unto me eyes and poke me if anything needs to be taken notice of.” Master Lothor, most noble of the little-folk, that white standard says you will see your first dragon and sword wrath and live to tell about it. For with all their evil, her flag binds this one you see today.”

Maggot may have seemed a bit mad but his air of confidence let Ulthok know he was in good hands or shoulder as it was. It was time to be just the pet parrot of the bard and not draw any attention.

The next few minutes proved nerve racking as Maggot verbally sparred with the Wraith that was obviously a part of his past. But he did continue to move forward toward the center of the bridge.

It seemed to be getting tense, Maggot skillfully manipulates the conversation and Ulthok was amazed when wraith mounted her dragon and left the bridge. Then on cue Maggot stepped to the center of the bridge, smiled at the wraith’s threat, waved and in that instant vanished from bridge.

The scene shifted from the view of mountains and valley to that of recent battlefield littered dead Orcs.

“Never alone!” Maggot noticed the two people standing with him. He quickly smiled and put his hand down, “I was never alone either,” he whispered to them and laughed. He then spoke to the parrot, “Well Ulthok, Master of Shadows it appears we have arrived. Is this as good a place as any for your beast of burden to put down his load?” He then pointed toward the city beyond the battlefield, “I dare say that is the township of Derch.” He posed as a question to the two standing with him.

“I’m so glad you knew where you were going.” Ulthok squawked. “Now to confuse these folks even more..... All ashore that’s going ashore.” Fluttering from Maggot's shoulder Ulthok landed on the ground next to the bard’s boots and reassumed his normal form. Assisting Maggot they lifted the party members from their hiding places, restoring each to their normal size.

The elven stranger introduced himself,“I am Mena’kandur Landhrin’dren, at your service.”

“Well my good fellow, the best service you would give would be to escort us into the city. It has been a long time since we enjoyed the luxury of an Inn. There is ale to be drunk, food prepared by someone else to be eaten, hot baths to be taken and soft beds to enjoy.” An innocent smile gleamed on his face as he winked at Valene….... “We do not wish to seem rude, but Great googly moogly it is grand to see a city…….. Cor my friend shall you lead us to a frothy tankard?” Ulthok roared with laughter, he was so glad to be away from the mountain.

So I posted as best I could from our Q&A's. Hope this fits everyone. I was going to make Ulthok a crow, they have been known to be able to talk, but I went with a parrot because everyone knows of them talking.

I was thinking going with a Spider Monkey.
"Wish cotton was a monkey." But I was sure if Tann would let it use it voice for the spells.

Ulthok had listened to plan to teleport to Gygax and with a quick review of available magic realized they weren’t ready to fulfill the plan, they need different spells to succeed. They couldn’t risk waiting the day to replace the spells. It was Cor that remembered he could provide a Nap to two of the wizards that would give them eight hour time in just one hour.

Sirene felt they needed more information of what was awaiting them outside the cave and decided to consult her goddess. This left just Ulthok and Maggot to come up with new spells and Maggot would be too busy planning the teleport.

“So be it,” Ulthok said. I’ll rest and gather enough spells to get the party small enough to ride Maggot like the wild wonder he is.” With that he and Cor steps aside to prepare.

(O.O.C. Now I’ll rearrange my spell and send them to Tann. Also assuming we follow Keeper plan.)

An hour later Ulthok returned and one by one he cast the Reduce spell on all but Sirene, Maggot and himself. Then each secured themself to Maggot to risk their daring escape. Sirene could change herself as she pleased and Ulthok changed to a small parrot. Flying up to Maggot’s shoulder he could talk and cast spells. Also he could quickly escape and help the party from a safer location.
As they prepared to leave the cave to make their way to the bridge, "Someone cast invisibility and non detect over the group. It was now up to the fair couple of Maggot and fate." Ulthok squacked.

Subject: So This What......

This is what I think I understand.

Ulthok and Cor will retreat back to the tunnel to take the hour for Nap. The fighter stand guard.

Sirene will commune with her goddess for information.

Ulthok will set 7 Reduce spell to drop the party members to about 10% (house rules)of the there normal size.

Ulthok and Sirene will polymorph into something small too.
Sirene will control the cat so it doesn't consider us lunch.

Ulthok will take Maggots other shoulder so he has a good view in case he needs to try attack spells or some thing.

The rest need to pick a riding spot.

Let me know if this agreeable and we can start posting.

Subject: Druids.................

My thought of the Druid is that can take on an animal form so the spell would need to be used on them.

Here's the effect of "Reduce". Ulthok is an 11th level Mage.

The creature or object loses 10% of its original size for every level of the caster,
to a minimum of 10% of the original size. Thereafter, the size shrinks by 1-foot
increments to less than 1 foot, by 1-inch increments to 1 inch, and by 1/10-inch
increments to a minimum of 1/10 of an inch--the recipient cannot dwindle away to
nothingness.

So I think to figure this reduce in steps of 10% each step for 11 steps. If you hit where you are at 10% of your original height before you reach step 11 then do the addition instructions until you get to the 11th step.

I was looking for the poly morph other too, thought I had, but I was wrong.

Well a TPK in one swell foop would put a real dent in the game, lol.

The other small flying lizards seems interesting.

Having a Green and a Blue dragon on the same attack says a lot too.

Topic: Trilogy War Q/A
Subject: Who are the Druids that can change?

I was trying see who were the Druids, but it didn't seem clear on the character sheets.

If i read them correctly Ulthok, Maggot(Bard) and Sirene are our Wizard types that Nap would help. Sirene being both Druid and Mage.

Cor, Valene and Rayne are Clerics

Althena, Lother, Kenji, Ayreon are fighter with no magic to change.

So if it makes sense Ulthok could redo his spells to get 7 Reduce to cover the group. Sirene keeps her Polymorph Self and checks in with her God to see if she find out stuff.

Then Ulthok does polymorph self. If anyone would prefer to be change into something we have that spell too.

I had thought we could change into a flock of vultures and fly out with the other birds, hopefully unnoticed. But this too require study time for enough spells.

Also if we are so close to the outer wall of the mountain there may be another exit near besides the giants cave.

Now doing a bit of reading on dragons, we never determined the color of the dragons to help figure type (or did I miss that?). If they are Green Dragons, they hate giants and hunt them as a normal thing anyway.
