Asher and Wolf still have 60 feet to go to reach the mine floor. I would post more about reaching there but need for info on what Ash can see and hear. He is planning to go after the lackey without shooting so a lay of the land for things to use as shields would be nice.

Now we got zombie roachs, yuck.

Tann how many feet away are the roachs from Ulthok and Sirene?

Subject: Bring A Knife To A Gunfight.................

They were about 40 feet down the shaft when voices from below echoed oddly round them. It was clearly Luke and Winnie’s last brother. Ash could clearly hear them plan the ambush of their friends.

Anger flushed through the Kid as he continued to descend. Pausing he slipped a hand over a flashbang. He knew a concussion blast would catch both those Huen Dahn off guard and knock them cold.

As he started to lift the grenade he hear Luke warn his lackey,“And remember kid – this place ain’t stable so use the suppressors and no grenades nor flashbangs or you will be in a world of hurt and we won’t get anything out of here but a cold dark death.”

“Ta Ma Duh”, Ash whispered as he secured the grenade back in its place. But they also mentioned suppressor and the kid didn’t use um. Looks like hand to hand,Asher thought and a smile smirked across his face. Time to show your metal and that’s a knife.

With stealth and determination Ash continued down.

Subject: It's Just Ebb and Flow.............

Now I'm not a longtimer on the site but I've seen how the flow seems to go here.

The core group of staffers keep it moving and when RL slows them down it slows the site.

PLayers flock to curtain GMs and if they slow then so do the players.

I've found that four games is my current limit. I spend too much time over thinking my posts and then I usually mess them up anyway, lol.

It will be a while before I can even think about ever being a GM.

Subject: Bright Idea.....

Here's where I got the idea. Divot is an undead and would be subject to this effect.

Besides Ulthok is running out of options so it is time to be creative.

Wand of Illumination (91 Charges remaining)
This wand has four separate functions, three of which approximate wizard spells, and one of which is unique:
• Dancing lights: The wand produces this effect at a cost of one charge.
• Light: The illumination wand sends forth light at an expenditure of one charge.
• Continual light: This function require two charges.

• Sunburst: When this effect is called forth, the wand delivers a sudden flash of brilliant, greenish-white light, with blazing golden rays. The range of this sunburst is 120 yards maximum, and its duration is 1/10 of a second. Its area of effect is a globe of 40-foot diameter. Any undead within this globe suffer 6d6 points of damage, with no saving throw. Creatures within or facing the burst must roll successful saving throws vs. wands or be blinded for one round and be unable to do anything during that period. (Of course, the creatures in question must have sight organs sensitive to the visible light spectrum). The function requires three charges. The wand can be recharged.

Subject: My Future's So Bright I Have To Wear Shades.....

Flames erupted on the abomination as the vial burst letting air mix with oil. Ulthok clung to Divot’s back attempting to void the creature's unnaturally strong arms. Through the spreading inferno the monster still fought on, reaching back over its shoulder it snatched Ulthok by the hair and drug him over to face him. As he was pulled around the mage wanted to draw his sword of lightening speed, but being pressed to Divots body his hands could only reach his pouch and wand. Experience had taught the mage that not only was fire a curse to undead but so was light. This may serve, but it was a risk. Then the smashing hand of the zombie crushed into his face. Divots hand held Ulthoks hair and didn’t allow his head to recoil, blood splattered from a flatten nose and began coursing down his face.

Sometimes pain and shock dull the mind and slow the victims reactions, sometimes it peaks the sense of survival and clears away doubt. The mage knew that Divot would see Ulthok’s hands rising to cover the damaged nose. This would seem the most natural of reactions, so he would not see the wand as a threat. Using this Ulthok pulled his wand of illumination from beneath his cape and raised his hands placing one over his eyes, the other holding the wand between him and Divot. In milliseconds he coursed will and spirit in the wand and released a mighty flash of light directly in Divots face. The wand released a brilliant “Sunburst” of golden glow and rays. No undead with eyes could resist the damaging brilliance (6d6, no save). Ulthok hoped the flash would also cause Divot to release his hair so he could move and draw his sword.

The risk was that the flash would affect any within 40 feet or looking in the direction of the flash, possible leaving them blinded for a short time (1 round, save against wand). With the minions facing his direction as they attacked the party it could benefit his friends who backs were to the mage; making the creatures of Alasdair facing him vulnerable to attack.

I've spent all evening doing mine and my sons taxes so I'll get a post up tomorrow.

Yeah, Sunburst, it does 6d6 damage to undead in a 40 foot area with no save.

Ulthok nearly had his lights punched out so now it's time for him to come up with a "bright" idea!!!!

"Gee, Daddy thought I was so bright he called me sun."

Oh Sirene how could you? Oh by the way Ulthok wouldn't mind a bit healing theropy ocne he's done with Divot.

Subject: From Out of the Dark.....Ulthok..........

Ulthok had willed a spark of spirit into his ring and vanished. Hidden from sight he knew he’d have to move quickly, he could not afford to let this atrocity to continue. Holding his breath to prevent the stench from befalling him again he closed on the creature searching for him. Divot moved surprisingly quickly. Ulthok could see the zombie had shoes similar to his for spider climbing, but they didn’t make him quicker. Divot looked up from the defeated leopard and starting searching the darkness to find Ulthok. As Divot passed the invisible Ulthok he was close enough to touch . Using the quickness gifted him by his boots of striding the determined Halfling leapt on the Zombie’s back,(stealth and /or dex bonus)grabbing him and smashing the vial into the living corpse, releasing the fire fluid. “Be free my brother!”

Both sadness and hope course through Ulthok as he clung (strength bonus)to his brother’s back. He knew he had to avoid those unnaturally strong arms. His heart ached and leapt with the hope he could save his brother soul by destroying the cursed body.

The abomination could not be allowed to escape, if the fire didn’t destroy the zombie Ulthok could hold him until help might arrive. If the corpse would collapse to floor the Mage would draw his sword and behead the thing.
