Subject: Falling Hard...............

Keying his own communicator Ash said softly, “Doc’s on his way; there’s a hurt lady on the second floor and there’s somethun noisy out front. Be careful. I’ll try to cover ya, topside.”

Ash heard a sound below him as he moved to the lookout. It was the sound of a sigh, or someone letting out their last breath. He turned and looked down at Winnie, expecting the worst, as her wounds were too much for her and she let out her last breath. But then something fell out of her hand.

Oh Gorram!!!!"

Ash ran at full speed up the stairs of the lookout and dove over the side, rolling over the ledge and down the newly shingled roof.

The explosion roared in Asher's head and the fire licked at his backside. Somewhere instinct took over; he tumbled as he was thrown by the force of the blast, tucking up and rolling. He hit the edge of the roof with a hard thump that drove the wind out from him and then he crashed over the side to the ground; his clothing smoldering. Just as he thought he was clear the debris from the roof fell on him.

Asher lay motionless under the pile of debris that had just been the upper floors of the jail house. Twice in one night Ash had been caught in explosions and this one was serious. He had seen the grenade roll out of Winnie’s hands; the final trap she had set for him, but that wasn’t enough to blow him out of the building. Stunned and in shock the kid felt the pressure and weight of the lumber pressing down on him, he knew the pain would catch up soon. Through the ringing in his ears he could now make out the random and sporadic popping of bullets, as if they had been tossed into a fire. A vague idea that maybe that bed had hid the sheriff’s stash of ammo made sense.

Time moved slow as the bullet fire stopped and in that quiet the fear of his situation grew. Ash couldn’t move, he was trapped, pinned under the pile of rubble. Asher’s thoughts seemed to float as ever so slowly reality and pain caught up. The kid was not one to panic, but tonight things seemed to be out to kill him. His crew needed him, he couldn’t let them down again. He had to get out. Gritting his teeth and pushing he shoved the debris, nothing moved, “Oh Gorram!!!!"

"Asher! You there! You better be alive young man or else I may be powerfully upset at you ruining the work I put into saving you. Ain't too respectful to get yourself killed before all the stitching heals." It was Doc McGuire's voice, followed by the sounds of someone moving debris. "HEY!....... Over here!......... I got a man down and I can't move these beams!" the Doc shouted.

For the second time in a week that gruff old voice has been the best thing Ash could remember hearing. “Doc? …..Oh Doc thank Buddha you’re here.”

Then with a small crack in his voice Ash said, “Doc…., I’m sorry……, Winnie didn’t make it.”

Thought I'd pop in here and add the Ody welcome.

Pop into the DragonChat where I act as current resident bar tender. We offer our very own "Good Old Froth-n-Slosh", the stale pale ale with the foam on the bottom.
Just grab a mug off the mantel and draw a cold frosty one.

My assistant Igor is usually lurking around if I'm not there.

He never says anything, must have something to with having his tongue cut out by his last boss, that nasty bar tender over at the Orc Bar & Grill.
I'll have him put out a plate of "Lady Fingers" in your honor.

Reminds me we need to have another "Ladies Night" and restock.

Anyway the Posting Games are great place to get to know folks and of course the DragonChat is our favorite lounge.

So lurk or play, welcome to the Inn!

Tann, are roaches 5 and 9 knocked off Althena enough for a clear bow shot for Ulthok?

It looks like Cynil can attack #7 and then #9 with her +3 Scimitar of Giant Slaying Sm/Med: 1d8+3 #ATKS: 3. She gets 3 attacks.

Sirene takes out #1 with her +2 Scimitar: 1d8+2.

Haila Takes on #2 and #5 with her +3 Sword Of Combat Dancing SM/Med:1d8+3 ATKS:3. She gets 3 attacks.

Ulthok can again use his bow if the roaches are not on top of Althena. If he can't use the bow he could still take on #5 with his +2 Short Sword(Idrenal)SM/Med:1d6+3 #ATKS:1/1.(doubles all damage from backstab). When he comes out of being invisable he would be behind the monster and get a "backstab".

Ulthok could use his +3 Short Sword of Lighting Quickness SM/Med:1d6+4 #ATKS:2/1. That would give him 2 attacks that he could split between 5 and 9. He'd surprise on 5 as he became visible.

Okay, so many possibilities. Any other ideas?

After 30 minutes the teams return and reform ranks. Vasquez shakes her head at the colonel and he nods. "Right! Sorry about that. I thank you for your cooperation and time. I hope we didn't delay you too much."

“Well Marshall we all have our job to do and we got lucky to find this shipment. “ Jon escorted the Marshall to the airlock.

The Alliance officers and the Marshall's left the ship and the cargo bay is sealed again.

As the Alliance boat Erikson headed away Jon pounded on the bulk head. “That seemed too close, let’s just take it easy and mosey out all calm like. Tess, go ahead and fire her up again but let’s just dance our lady away like no big deal. Jason, let’s try it again with the Goodbyes and Fair thee Well’s. They’ll be watching so let’s just be anything but Twitchy.”

Jon headed toward the gang way when he remembered Doc’s earlier comments, “Okay Doc, you can show me what you were so concerned about. “ Ken, Grace and Doc lead Jon back to Pricilla’s room. Ken lead them into the room and pulled back the covers. The case sat there as proud as ever with its little red light flashing. “Gorram, that doesn’t look so good. That’s got something techy about it. Grace ,you think you figure this out without causing us no more delays?” Jon started to reach for the case but stopped, “Ah, I’ll just leave this for you.”

Jon walked out of the cabin and turned toward the bridge, “Doc, give one last check one Pricilla before we’re out of range. Let me know if there’s anything worth knowing.”

Subject: RL is so over rated...........

I understand completely, RL and work have been nipping at my heels too. Due to poor management we are going into receivership. When I took the job last December it was because it was close to home, but it didn't look this bad. The books were being "cooked" and the Prez was not revealing what was really happening. He's long gone now. We are going back up sale, but the bank wants to keep the doors open because we are worth more that way. I hope things work out, I'm too old to be trying to find another job.

Those are my characters in Rogers other two games.

Both are currently trying to heal. I hope I'm not seeing a trend.

I'll try to get post tonight to set Jon's intentions.
We'll pull away at normal speed and then hit full burn after we check out the "Surprise" package.

I think our twitchy queen of tech needs to once over it, I'll have Jon ask her to look it over. MMV if you'd like to run with that in your post I'll write it that we went with Doc and Ken so they can show Jon what they found and he asks Grace if she can figure anything out about it. You can run with that any where you want, twitchy or not. Jon will have Tess leave orbit at a normal pace while we assess what just went down with the Fed visit. That buys time to fit MMV's post to check the case. Jason may wish to give another leaving message and then inform the Baron we are on our way. Ken can just be Ken as he shows the case to Jon. I'll ask Doc to do last check on Priscilla after he sees the case.

Just some ideas to move us forward.

Ok by all of you? I hope to be writing by 9 tonight and post by 11.

If the task of Barkeeper should pass then Igor will see to it the new proprietor keeps them clean and ready for your return.

“Rest now… gather your strength…” the foggy vision began to fade… and the voice fades as well…. “for a great battle lies ahead of you… do not fail… for the fate of thousands of innocent people rests in your hands” As the words of his dream faded Tad aroused from his trance.

The rising sun jolted the Sly to the realization that he tranced longer than was his usual time and he had missed his watch. Looking at the faces of his new team he could see in their eyes that they too had the same dream. The words of the dream had spoken truth and Tad knew that their course had been set for them. He didn’t know what, when or where they would meet this challenge but he knew they could not turn away.

Seeking out his leader Tad addressed Danamar, “ We know what we know and we must do what we must do. As you lead I shall follow. My words to you the first night was commitment, now it is my pledge, Amin naa lle nai. Cuamin linduva yassen megrille.” (I am yours to command. My bow shall sing with your sword.)

Tad turned and walked back his to gear knowing that what lay ahead was more than he had even expected to face.
