Ok here’s my two cents. I agree that we continue to charge East, hit those skeletons in front of us and break through. However I say we do not stop to fight them.

I think it would be much better that once past them we continue to run until we meet up with the crew of The Toothless Dragon. Per one of Hammer’s early posts stated they are set up in prepared positions to help us if we get in trouble. Well I think this qualifies as trouble. Once we reach them THEN we stand and fight with better numbers and from a defensible position.

But you really knew I was kidding I know how much the game means to you just like how much Trilogy means to me. However I was serious about Brom's Cyberpunk game. I'd love to play in another one and try not to die this time

Subject: Last post till the 23rd

With the enemy forces still not attacking or digging in deeper, as with the rain, rumors once more began to spread among the people within the fortress walls. From the Dark King’s forces, waiting for reinforcements to them being beaten and no longer having the will to fight. From yells to attack them to whispers to stay within the walls and defend. Whatever the case another three days went by with nothing having changed. Then on the morning of the fourth, the day was overcast and the sky full of dark clouds lightning flashing within, yet no sign of any rain. As most of the group went about their normal morning duties, Lady Jessica and Valene decided to do a bit of shopping and into the main area of the fortress they went.

However a short time later after the two had walked out of sight of the manor walls. From the interior of the enemy camp, the party and fortress defenders, could all hear the sound of horns, drums and the guttural yelled cheers of many an enemy soldier. From the wall and towers the defenders, Elf, Human, Dwarf, what have you, could see a large cloud of dust moving towards the main enemy camp and the Craggian Core fortress.

At the centralized tent, the commander of this army smiled, as General Torge informed him of the cause of it, his sister the Witch-Queen of Cha’Arin, known to all as the Dark Fortress had arrived. Nodding his head he looked at the General before him.

“Send word to her to move into position, and send the prepared message to Craggian Core’s commander and the King’s within, asking for their surrender.”

As Torge left he smiled and thought to himself, even without the second part of the Dark King’s scattered army, he would take Craggian Core this day.

(DM OOC: Ok short post as there is really nothing more to write till I return from MD so have fun. Feel free to back post or post time wise as the dust cloud shows up, either way as you have roughly three weeks to better get to know the newest players I would hope to see you all do so. Ok see you all back here on the 17th)

BACKPOST #1 Days 1-2

During the course of the next few days Crow found himself at odds at how to spend it other then training at the Betula temple. Having recognized Tohmas Goodwood among some of the others gathered to join this party of Seekers he had naturally gravitated to him. Talking about the area of Detmold forest and the plains near the two started to build a small bond. Though not a city person Crow did show the plainsmen a little of the town, of course keeping him away from the more shadier parts of it.

BACKPOST #2 Day 3

Without realizing it the days passed quickly for both and now on this third day Crow waited by the entrance to the docks and realized that for the moment he was the first one there. As he crouched with his back leaning against a pole he watched as in ones and two’s the rest of the group made their way to meet with Mad Dog then board the dragon boat further down the docks behind him.

The first to arrive was a male Half-Elf dressed in leather armor with what appeared to be only a pair of daggers for weapons. A thief perhaps, however this was not what caught Crow’s attention but the Half-Elf’s bright red hair. The Elf could only hope that he would have a cap or something, hopefully the cloak he wore was hooded. Without something to hide it, it could be a short trip.

As the Half-Elf took up a waiting position opposite him Crow nodded his head in greeting but stayed quiet for now. Once all ten were gathered he’d introduce himself to all. Why waste breath in nine greetings when one would surely do.

The next to join him and the Half-Elf was his new friend Tohmas also dressed in leather armor and with his floppy broad rim leather hat firmly on his head. When Crow had first seen it worn he had inadvertently teased the Druid about it and was told in no uncertain terms that the hat was off limits. Of course the Elf Ranger never one to discard a good opportunity for causing a few laughs had any intention of obeying Tohmas’s ‘hands off policy’. Now as the Druid approached the dragon boat Crow could see him carrying a wooden shield, short bow and a staff. Nodding his head in greeting he continued to take stock of the other Seekers as Tohmas took up a kneeling position beside him…

As Crow continued to watch those approaching this meeting area a male Gnome walked up to him and Tohmas, also taking up a waiting position. Dressed in studded leather as Crow was himself and carrying what could be 2 daggers and a cross bow the Elf Ranger pegged him as another thief or possibly a bard? Hard to tell with Gnomes as they were versed in a lot of different skills. However like the Half-Elf before, this one also had orange colored hair again another possible problem if stealth was called for.

As he gazed on this Gnome his mind on how to deal with the two Seekers with the brighter then normal hair he almost missed the arrival of the next two Seekers. The first being a male Human in studded leather armed with a broadsword and dirk. By his manor and walk Crow marked him right off as a fighter type, possibly a Knight or a Pali? Beside him and to his right followed another male Human dressed in leather and armed with a short sword and a wooden shield. Though armed as a fighter his shy seeming manner and big grin reminded Crow of a follower, perhaps the knight or paladin’s man at arms?

The next of the ten was one the Elf Ranger was happy to see joining the quest. A male human armed with a war hammer and wearing leather armor, a holy symbol hanging around his neck clearly marking him as a Cleric. Wait, what? On closer look as the human passed by Crow realized the human was a Cleric of the Dwarven goddess Toft! A human not only worshipping a Dwarf goddess but a Cleric of one was to Crow unheard of in the Detmold forest. Plus this human too had orange hair. What was it with orange and red headed participants among this wanna be group of Seekers like the Elf himself, Crow wondered.

Shaking his head Crow was starting to worry as that made three out of ten so far with hard to hide hair without a cap or hooded cloak. But no matter what god this Cleric called his own having one within the party was never a bad thing strange or otherwise.

Next to arrive was another male Half-Elf dressed in normal clothing and carrying both a club and staff. Crow knew he had to be a mage of some type for only one of the arcane arts would seek treasure wearing nothing but normal clothes.

Then next up was the lone female of this party of Seekers another full blooded Elf like himself in studded leather and carrying a wide variety of weapons including a spear, two short swords, and a short bow. With blonde hair and green eyes she looked a little out of place among this male group of Seekers. With her weapons Crow could only guess at her trade. Another Ranger perhaps?

As Crow counted he saw that nine out of ten members of this group had arrived for the moment consisting of 2 Elves, 2 Half-Elves, 4 Humans and a Gnome. For the moment the party was still down 1 member.

Then it was that the last of this group of Seekers arrived at the meeting place and Crow got a little bit of a shock as he recognized his friend Jaufre Vanvoie a Human male from Detmold who had left the area both had called home to become a paladin. The Elf Ranger had not seen him in quite a number of years since that early childhood together. Quickly getting to his feet he moved to greet his old friend.

“Jaufre, by the grace of Betula never did I think to see you here among this group”

Moving closer he first grasped the Paladin’s outstretched hand then moved into a deep hug.

“I guess now that all have arrived it would be best if I introduced myself. I am Crow. A Ranger from the forests of Detmold. Like you I have come seeking the riches of our forgotten world. This is Jaufre Vanvoie a Paladin also from Detmold and a childhood friend but I should let him speak for himself” Crow spoke this with a laugh. “Now who are you all, please let us all introduce ourselves. Seeing as we will face life and death together should we not know who we will be standing beside?”

Then it was time as Mad Dog arrived and escorted them to the dragon ship and very strange crew waiting for them. Reaching the ship Mad Dog heartily embraced the equally burly Captain Crayfish, before greeting each of the 18 stalwart members of The Toothless Dragon crew, with unbridled enthusiasm! Then he slapped the First Mate on the back, suddenly hoisting the protesting Dwarf high in the air, before greeting him with a friendly, but not so gentle, bear hug!

"This Be Dagger! He Be Short. But He Be Deadly! An These Be Me Stout Hearts Here Be Yer Captain! Crayfish Be His Name!"

Captain Crayfish stepped forward, an imposing figure of a man, with a green and red feathered parrot sitting atop his right shoulder, sporting a matching toothless dragon eye patch as did his Captain Master, irreverently mimicking his speech when it struck its fancy!

"Welcome Aboard Da Toothless Dragon! Captain Crayfish! At Yer Service!"

Mad Dog Muldoon stepped to one side and began introducing each of the 10 Treasure Seekers by name to the Captain, First Mate and Crew. Inquisitive looks and flickers of perceived recognition etched the faces of the crew members. Once everyone had been introduced, Mad Dog Muldoon handed each of the 10 adventurers a matching black eye patch stitched with the Red Toothless Dragon design!

"Ye Kin Wear Em! Ye Kin Carry Em Jes Keep Em Close At Hand N Safe Ye Never Know Jes When Er Where Ye Need Ta Show These Fer Safe Passage Or Help!"

Captain Crayfish, Dagger and the Stout Hearts exchanged knowing glances at one another, Crayfish then piped up for added emphasis:

"Specially Fer Safe Passage!"

After a few more informal formalities, Mad Dog Muldoon excused himself to go tend to his duties at the Toothless Dragon Tavern, shaking each Treasure Seeker firmly by the hand, saying.

"Ye Bring Me Treasure! Soon As Possible!"

Then it was onto the ship proper and they were underway at last , setting course down river on the way to the island of Tagea, as the ten Seekers had agreed upon after signing on and consulting among themselves after viewing their maps. For the next six days the voyage was peaceful but for the rain and storm would have been even enjoyable. During this time Crow made sure to talk to each of the nine others though most if the time he could be found with Tohmas or Jaufre or both. Then it was day six and they had arrived at their debarkation point.

THE PRESENT

As the party prepared to begun the trek towards the distant city Captain Crayfish summoned them to gather together around him, turning to nod at Dagger, the group watched as he pulled out a heavy bag filled with Gold Coins and proceeded to distribute ten Gold Coins to each of them. In explanation that the coins were for any expenses they may encounter after they entering the city.

With Crow in the lead the ten Seekers made their way up a quarter mile sand slope, littered here and there with bits and fragments of flotsam and jetsam, making their approach a cautious one. However luck was not to be with them this day as upon topping the rise, they were startled to see, about 1000 yards in the distance, the broken remains of a once proud city! Their eyes were greeted by the sight of crumbled walls and what appeared to be an expansive, desolate pile of rubble!

Evident, even from that distance, that there was not one building standing unscathed from the effects of some unknown destruction Serving as a haunting backdrop in the far distance, is the unmistakable outline of a vast mountain range, stretching on a slightly irregular diagonal line across the center of the island, from the southeastern edges to the northwestern edges of the island; bending northeasterly, forming a natural border along the foreboding terrain of the northern section of the island, with not a trace of any of this geographical terrain showing, or even remotely marked, on any map in their possession!

Therefore, the city to the south on their maps, is obviously on the other side of this unexpected mountain range, best accessible by boarding The Toothless Dragon and sailing south along the irregular eastern coastline.

Looking to the other nine Crow asked.

“Back to the boat, or do we attempt to search the ruins for any thing left behind?”

As far as having a leader, considering none of us knows the others. I think we should just go on this first quest and see who, out of the ten of us, emerge as possible choices and then decide on one.

As for the maps well there I have to disagree also. As the only Ranger of the party it's gonna be up to me to find the best route to where we want to go and having the maps with me I'm sure would be a big help. However that is a party call and I'll go with the majority.

Subject: Introducing Crow

The new day born out of the darkness of the night was bright and cool the bustle of a city on the verge of another busy day clearly heard. Vendors opening their stalls, eatery's beginning the cooking of bread, early bird taverns opening their doors for both food and drink. This was the city of Heristat a place of hope and goodness too many but as with all city's a place of hopelessness and sorrow to others.

He watched as prostitutes returned to their Inn rooms and homes to rest from a night hopefully well served. Soldiers on their morning patrols, lawmen rousting the drunks from taverns and alley‘s. Thieves, muggers, and pickpockets counting their gains, teen gangs of elves, humans and other races roaming their so called hoods collecting their protection pay offs.

A city of magic and wonder with shrines to almost all the Gods. A city of shadows and corruption, bordellos and gambling halls. Shops and taverns dedicated to the pawning of both legal and illegal items gained by a wealth of Treasure Seekers. A city full of many different races living and dying together without a seconds thought. The Elf Ranger known only as Crow sat on the roof top of the Toothless Dragon Tavern above a rented room window looking into the city spread out before him, and hated it.

Well maybe not hate, he thought to himself, after all hate was a strong word perhaps a better word was disgusted. To an Elf born of the wilds of the Detmold forest even before he was born, a city of this size was like a cancer on the face of the earth. Born into a family bigger then most, a circus family, the young aged Elf once known as Maithias Crowmarhte was not one to stay long in one place. The only reason to be in this foul city was work which he needed and hoped would pay as well as promised. As he sat there as the sun rose into the sky he replayed Mad Dog Muldoon’s words in his mind.

"Ye answered me notice fer stout uv heart exploratory. No experience needed I writes
I see by da looks uv ye I got what I asked fer.Serves me right fer not bein a mite more particulatin in me choices. These be yer sacks uv 50 gold coins fer signaturin up.
Gud fer payin off debts or openin accounts fer an eye ta yer futures. Makes no never mind ta me how ye spends yer fee. Now take dese here maps so ye kin all decide among
yerselfs as to where ye be figurrin ta set sail in three days. Captan Crayfish kin be trusted well nuff fer shur Same wit his scurvy crew. All ye need do when ye return be ta shew me where ye been. Plus wit Treasures nuff ta make me a gud profit fer me troubles. Ye git a gud slice fer yer troubles too!"

The Elf Ranger had to smile as he thought about that bag of 50 gold. Ahhh he’d had it all of an hour maybe before paying off his tithe to Betula. Well he was those three days later waiting for the other nine members of this quest to climb aboard ship and head to Tagea. Out of the nine others he had only recognized the Druid, Tohmas Goodwood. Though not friends per say, both knew of the other as they both were of Detmold and each had a healthy respect for the other. Finally seeing a few of nine others headed towards the docks he wasted no time and feeling a little bored stood, moved to the roof’s edge, and in a series of jumps, springs, and a last minute flip landed on his feet in front of the Taverns main door and hurried to join the others.

(OOC: Will add more if needed)

Topic: The Trilogy War
Subject: Rain, Rain, go away, come back never

Compared to the fever rush of battle this ‘lull’ was almost a vacation of sorts. With no attacks against the two remaining walls, other then the normal bombardment of rocks and stones, it almost seemed the enemy before Craggian Core was waiting for something. But what?

As the height of the last two walls were increased and strengthen by numerous castings of Walls of Stone and Iron. The forces in defense, all from many different lands, readied themselves by training side by side. In much the same way did party continue to seek a closer bond between themselves and the newest members. They talked, perhaps flirted, relaxed and even trained to some degree as the days wore on. A short visit of Barreel Axehand to the Manor gave clear notice that he was ready to join the party if needed. The Dwarf Berserker obviously in need of a fight other then that gained in a bar.

As more days began to pass a dark, sky moved over the battlefield below and it began to rain. Normally rain, even out of season, was nothing to fear but this rain seemed different.
Somehow, the rain drops heavy, the mist in the mornings clingy, the rain somehow just wrong. The rain for the next 4 days almost non-stop water everywhere and in everything. A lake of puddles and pools of water causing more then one unsuspecting person to take a false step to drown beneath their false depths. In each such death there were no witnesses to tell what had truly happened and fear began to run as the rumors mounted. The water of the rain alive, the water of the rains cursed. The water of the rain a spell of the Black Robes meant to slowly poison and kill.

Then after a week, the rain stopped and the sun was seen once more and the people were happy as the water left from the rains began to dry up. However many of those of the upper tier of command assigned to defend and hold Craggian Core could only wonder if the sun and the clouds of white so thick hid the coming of a much bigger, much more evil storm.

(DM OOC: Ok my post for this Sunday is up good posting and interacting so far peoples so please keep it up. Ok my last post before my 3-week break will be on this coming Sunday the 3rd. However even though I will not be posting till Sunday the 23rd of June please consider Trilogy as a free form game and continue to post among yourselves.

All you need is the picture code like this.

 photo thCA6KQX8H_zpscbc4833b.jpg

Or the pic of my character.

male elf photo: Hunter Male Elf Elfocacciatore.jpg

Like you I too did not know how to this for many years and just in maybe the last 3 years learned how. It was YeOlde who showed me how to find and use the codes by using Photobucket.

To make it easier if anyone wants a pic to represent your character send the picture to me and I'll get the code and pass it to Hammer. Or if you know how to get the code to Hammer just EMAIL the code as PMing it will only send the pic itself.
My email of course is on my Inn profile.

Also Hammer if you want these pics to be smaller, say more of a head shot then full body like the way I use then on the Trilogy War character thread. No problem I can do that too and would be happy to do so for everyone in the game.

Character looks good to me Sir Hammer. God is ok, Betula Temple is not a problem as far as my 50 gold is concerned. I like the idea of a place I can go to train.

Only a couple questions, I can still give some of my gains to the temple if I choose to rt? I assume yes but want to be sure. When in a town that has a temple can I get free room and board as a member? Does not have to an actual room, hell a cot is good

Also will you be putting up Pictures of our characters like the one I sent you.? I use them as do other DM's on the Inn to give us some idea what each of us looks like?

Other then that I guess I'm good to go.
