Subject: introductions?

“Not now!” came the hiss from the form of another human, which was pressing his weight against the only door in the room, keeping it shut. To Cathedral’s eyes, it was more than an it than a he or a she. The buildings around seemed to be decaying rapidly around him, yet not vanishing completely – a never-ending pattern of corruption.

“You there! What do you want from me?” The other pointed a finger at him. It was almost an accusing gesture - You said you could help her

A memory of anger washed over him, so strong that it pushed Cathedral back a step. He pushed it back with his mind. “I was… I was gonna ask you the same thing.” He shouted back, hands held at the side to be open and non-aggressive. “Where the hell are we? Do you know how we got here?”

He might be trying to push everyone away from him in a vain attempt to make his passing hurt them less. If he makes everyone hate him, then they don't have to mourn him. Or he doesn't want to accept his fate so he is angrily pushing people away to make denial easier.

Either way, it doesn't really help anyone. My thoughts are with you.

Subject: For Willow

Willow time with the shepherd passes quickly as they enjoy a modest breakfast of dumplings and small dishes. When they are done, Willow is excused shown out of the temple’s back way where Lau Tsu is waiting for here.

“Good to see you again.” He says quietly but with the mischievous note in his voice. “I trust your meeting went well?”

(Assuming some answer)

“I am to escort you to the town hall above the Bank” Lau says and when he does, two other Tong guards dressed in black also appear around you. Lau looks at them and Willows sees surprise for a moment, but a moment only, “and Grandfather seems to believe that we need chaperones.” He continues evenly. He gestures toward the pathway through the gardens towards the bank. Only yesterday, Willow had passed through this area but with the concern for Sam on her mind, she didn’t have the chance to appreciate the well maintained gardens. “I was made to believe that I was the leader of this family in all matters,” Lau says loud enough for your escorts to hear clearly, “But I see that is a fellting notion. Like all good leaders, I find that I must pick my battles and bow to the wisdom of the elders”

(if you have questions or comments, please feel free)

The walk is a short one, and Lau brings you to the stairs outside the bank that lead up to the hall. “I do hope that I will have the chance to see you again?” He asks.

(answer?)

“He bows deeply and steps back so Willow can climb the stairs. He doesn’t leave though, making sure that Willow gets to the doorway safely. Once there, the doctor can here the sounds of some sort of disturbance inside.

“Well! If I had criminal ties, I’d be afraid of a sheriff too.’ Someone said,. It sounded like Jimmy Blake.

Juh shi suh mo go dohng shee? I no Tong. JW invite me here. Ask my opinion. You Shia suo. I want sheriff in town. Keep peace good for business.” Willow didn’t know this voice.

“Hold now people,” that was JW

“ Shia Sho! Jimmy sounded angry, “Nee you wuo kai cheng!

Furniture scrapped and there was the sound on people moving.

“That’s enough!” shouted a voice Willow knew all too well. “You’re actin’ like a bunch o’ gorram schoolboys.”

Pain.

There was pain. Nothing but pain.

It was driving deep within the very core of his being, excruciating pain that would make any man beg for death. But in this he found solace for pain meant something to him – something he could hold on to like a drowning victim in the ocean.

I’m alive

He opened his eyes but could not see. His eyes did not focus immediately, leaving him in a world of blurry images. He tried to move but his legs didn’t respond at first. He was covered in a sticky substance - blood? Is it mine?

The streets of the city were drenched in blood. It poured off balconies and bubbled up from the sewers below. It ebbed against the garbage and clung to the bodies that lay strewn across the cobblestones. He was lying in the street, half propped up against a decayed wall. His short cropped blond hair was matted with the blood, and his naked body seemed too thin to his focusing eyes. There were tattoos on his arms, vibrant green and red tattoos of long tailed serpents. Don’t let the serpents touch popped into his mind like a warning, but he knew not from where.

“Where?” He spoke the word out loud but it only came as a whisper. He didn’t know where or when or even who. He tried to remember back, grasping at anything. A fleeting image of a coffee shop at university – Diablo’s it was called. John was introducing him to Natasha. It was so long ago, why did he remember that?

Natasha this is my good friend Cathedral. Cat this is …

Cathedral. They called me Cathedral. It is not my name, but it is who I am.

Movement caught in the corner of his eye brought him back to the reality he occupied. His eyes were adjusted now and there was a man stumbling down the street near him. It was only then that Cathedral became aware of the bodies in the street and around him. So many dead… Was there a war?

Cathedral watched the man, unsure if he was an enemy or a possible ally in this world of madness. The stranger made his way up to the porch of an old four story building, its door hung loose on one hinge. When he tried to enter, the entrance snapped shut. Lacking the strength to try to open it the man just sunk down like an old rag.

“Hey!” Cathedral called out but the wind snatched his words away. He swallowed and wished he had a drink. “Hey!” he called again, louder this time while rising to his feet.

Guardian – Officer’s Mess - 06:00 hours

Doctor Alan Benjamin Pierce had been awake for awhile now. The phantom pain the occasionally came to his artificial legs had been particulars bad last night, even though he knew it didn’t exist. Just a phantom of the mind playing tricks upon you, he would have told a patient, nothing to worry about, it will fade in time. It only came to him at nights now, and usually when he was on edge, but it didn’t change it from happening. He gave up on sleep, showered and dressed and headed from his quarters to the mess hall.

He entered the room and saw that he was alone for the moment. Too early for shift change, he thought to himself. as he moved to the food replicator. “Computer. Fruit cup, not melons, plain yogurt in a bowl and a Raktajino, hot, double double.”

The computer chirped once, “Please rephrase specifications.” Came the feminine voice, “Not familiar with “Double Double”

“Two STU’s of cream, two STU’s of sugar.”

The computer hummed a bit and produced his breakfast. He picked up tray and took it over to the small table nearest to him. He ate quickly, eager to arrive early in sickbay for his shift. Today, Lt. Tora Delnik was going to do a near death stasis application and its revival in simulation and She had asked Alan to assist. He was eager to be part of the procedure, and to show his skills to his superior officer.

Guardian – Sickbay - 06:30 hours

Alan entered the sickbay and looked around. He was surprised to see that the operating theatre was not set up for the simulation. He immediately moved over across the room and approached Doctor Delnik. “Doctor. Were we going to…”

“Change in plans Ensign Pierce. We are in orbit of Inorlia. It doesn’t look hospitable at all, but the Captain thinks there might be something. So, he is sending two shuttles down to the surface so you will be going as medical officer.”

“I’m to be the medic?” Alan asked incredulously.

“Is that a problem Ensign?” The Lieutenant asked.

Alan recognized the danger tone, “No Sir. Caught me by surprise, that’s all. I will get a medical kit and report to the shuttle craft hanger.” He replied smoothly. It Is jut a complete waste of someone of my skills and proficiencies to be on a military away team, but who am I to question orders from my intellectual inferiors.

Guardian - Shuttle Bay - 06:35 hours

“Inorlia is a hotbox. It doesn’t look hospitable at all, but the Captain thinks there might be something hiding at the poles. So, we’re going in. Away Team A will consist of Lt. Kavk, Ensign Goodhart, Ensign Malton, Ensign Pierce, Ensign Shral, and Ensign Tarwin will be manning the shuttle. Away Team B will consist of me leading, and the rest of you. We’ll take the South Pole; Away Team A will take the north. Any questions?” Lt Cmdr Solina asked?

Are we talking something as a Jem’Hader patrol or something as a few Klingon battle cruisers. For one I would pack more stimulants and pain relievers. The other I might as well pack barbeque sauce because we are all cooked. Alan thought to himself but kept his tongue in check. He learned long ago that Starfleet military didn’t like being reminded that they didn’t have the smarts to run the missions. Best to stay quiet and try to be helpful as things fell apart later. He even quietly accepted the phaser issued to him. Hard to remain true to “do no harm” with a deadly weapon in your hand, but he strapped it on none the less. He looked around at the faces of the men around and wondered if they would be all coming back this time around.

You don't actually flap your arms to fly with the spell. Yo uwould have stood there moving your hands arm like you were casting a spell. You would have leap into the air in a superman pose and held that for awhile. Then you would have screamed girlishly as you thought you were being electrocuted. Falling to the ground, you would have laid in the dirt for awhile before realizing something was wrong and you were lying in a cornfield.

So no, you didn't embarass yourself by flapping your arms.
