The OSRIC rules are available free at Drive Thru Games
OSRIC stands from Old School Reference and Index Compendium and is to 1e/2e rules what Pathfinder is to 3/3.5 rules. basically they have taken the original rules and re-packaged them so people could produce modules without fear of legal vengence from WotC.
A lot of gamers still like to old rules and many games are played here with them.

I would suggest that you delvelop your game concept fully and then explain it to players who might be interested. You have been rather vague as to game mechanics so far and this doesn't strike me as a good one for freeform.

I like this game too and have not moved on. I am just balancing the loss of two players on a five man team. I have no problem writing Brutal out with a heroic ending. A prisoner? Hurm. Sounds cheesy but hey this was always based on hollywood WWII, so what is a little cheese between cells?
Let me ponder. I am still quite busy (am at work right now actually) but things should be easing up by Friday.

As Ken was not originally YeOlde's character, I have no problem with having another person take up the role. YeOlde will be sorely missed but Tann'Talas has offered to take on Ken so we can continue.

With the Sam going NPC and YeOlde's passing we have some crew issues to look at. This is my solution. NOC the two until Brigit game is done.
Andrew Bowman will stay on Frisco to become new sheriff.
Sam will vanish leaving a note about enemies getting too close.
I have asked MMV to come up with a pilot to take over the helm. MMV is a good roleplayer and loves the Serenity verse.
Any thoughts or objections, bring them out now.

With Nomad's RL situation and the passing of YeOlde, I am ay odds with how to proceed in the game. My gut instinct is to end this games and move on. But there are still three of you playing and I don't want to leave you if the interest is still there.
So let me know your thoughts. I will not have another player take YeOlde's character. I do not believe that is respectful. Brutal will be NPC'ed until he can be taken out of the story in a heroic or befitting way.
I am thinking of starting a RPG based on Supernatural the TV series. You'd play Hunters of the supernatural in the Real World. If we end this game, all of you are welcome to join that one.
