If you love your short thieves, i understand but I was hoping you'd try another character. Maybe a Syl Fighter mage or a bard?

Oh well. Thanks for dropping by then.

Subject: time and gear

Time? I am ready when you are but let's say November, first weekend, we will start, that gives us enough time to get characters sorted and written up.

The thing about the lack of gear - the reason I do this is to push the limits of the characters. Starting out, the need to survive helps forge a team. You will have to work together. You will have to think instead of attacking. But you need to trust me as a DM. I want to enjoy this as much as you do so chances are I am not stuffing a dragon in the first room (see Olan if you want that ). There will be stuff within, and some really good stuff. But instead of writing equipment and weapons down, you are going to earn them and that will make them all that more special to you. Which would you prefer to say:

"This Sword? I found it in the lost Tomb of Hamon-Rye, guarded by a legion of undead and a man with no heart. It was a hard fought battle but I left with the sword and this scar for my efforts."

or

"This Sword? Sal's Outfitters. !00 gp, on special."

You have shared a boat space for three days so you would have passing knowledge of each other. If you wish to be friends or from a party before, I am open to that.

Subject: mana

You would start with 3MP at 1st lvl and then get 1 MP for every point of INT over 15. So with an 18 INT you'd have 6 MP.

To cast a spell costs mana. 1 pt per level of spell. You may cast any spell on your list, as often as you can. At 1st level you have 5 spells in your book plus one per point of INT over 15.

You can cast spells if you run out of mana but it costs you HP instead and that can not be healed. You will need 1 hour of sleep for every 1 HP drained. If you you go below half with life to mana, you risk a living death called Wizard's Twilight.

Yes you can get extra prof for high INT.

Would love to have a Cidal on the question. Do you need me to run over the mana system with you A?

As to the limited equipment. If there is a piece of equipment that is necessary for your character to function, then I will assume you have it. That would be lock picks for a thief. Holy symbol for a cleric, instrument for a bard etc etc (My mages don't have to carry spellbooks but they do need them to learn new spells). As well, I am not taking your clothing away - no one is in their undies. Those with armour clung to a large enough sections of the ship to stay afloat.

However weapons are gone. Food is gone, bedrolls, waterskins, caltrops, lanterns, oil, Playelf collection, etc etc. Now give me three items each you want to find on shore and I will randomly selection for the list for each player.

I have no problem with two clerics playing as I get one of each main class.

Sal - I don't mind the kits if they make sense in audalis setting.

There are some enhancements on Destiny that I must put in but the infirmary has a "brand new" Newtech 3d xray imager. As well the INT and WILL are now d4 on the ship.

Both Vanadia and Tann should think about the way their characters will react to the White Lady that appears.

Welcome Hammer. Love to have you. Tann has expressed some reservation about the starting with little equipment though, so I am not sure if he is in or not.

I am attempt this as a simple dungeon romp. No layers upon layers of plot, no great levels of writing. No epic history to the game. Just old school fun.

Subject: Players wanted - old school

You are sailing from Bayris to Portua, Pardinal in search for a means to sustain your career as an adventurer and keep enough coin in your purse to stay fed. It is a five day journey on a ship called the Minnow but after three days the weather takes a turn for the worse, and a storm tossed the Minnow around like the proverbial fish it is named after. If not for the courage of the fearless crew, the Minnow would be lost.

And then a lightning bolt killed the crew and waves split the ship in half. You cling to the pieces of wreckage hoping for a miracle....

So I am looking to start a game, set in Audalis, for 1e/2e players. Players should be chosen from the Audalis races (preferably the classic races of Human, Sylvari, Khordaldrum, Cidal) and have just reached second level in their chosen field. If you want to play multi-class then you have enough xp to get to second level in one profession (whatever takes the least). As this is Audalis, it will be a low magic items game.

Attributes should add up to be no more than 90 points with only one stat at 18. Hit points should be maximum. The party can be up to 6 players and should have one of the four major classes (Fighter, Rogue, Mage, and Cleric). If you wish to play a Mage, then I use a mana based system that allows Mages to be useful at low levels (1 mp = 1 1st level spell, you get mana bonuses for INT). If you wish to play a cleric, I donít restrict the domains.

I am looking for once a posting and your do not have to write novellas. This is a dungeon romp, starting out at the entrance and I am not looking for Shakespeare. If you want to write a lot of depth and can keep up with once a week, then that is great but not necessary for the plot.

If you are not an old school player, you can still join. I will help with the character creation.

At the start of the game you will have been in a shipwreck, tossed around at sea and just reached an island. So you start with limited equipment (Limited as in the clothing on your back). Every player is to submit three items they would like to find washed ashore. I will number each one, and do a random draw of one item per player. Donít worry, you will find stuff along the way.

So ....anyone interested?

No one among the crew knows Badger from the past. Grace got the meeting through a friend of a friend type of thing. Always check with me before assuming something is known.

As the game plays on, please do not ever assume that your character knows anything of "earth that was". There are some references later on about things on earth and history has become a bit muddled through the hundreds of years in space. So if your character saw a picture of Mickey Mouse, for example, do not assume they know who that is and any of the films.

Tess in 11, Angela in 12, and JC in 9. So you have a few more rooms for passengers if you need them.

The closest to the Bridge by space and ease is 11. Lift and stairs right across from room. There is no passage way from the passenger quarters to the bridge that is accessible to anyone except Grace, who has two routes through the air-ducts, just in case.

5 and 6 are not directly accessible to the bridge. You have to go down a stairs, across main floor and the to Bridge.

There is no limit on who you take to the meeting - well within reason. Take Tess, Angela and JC with you. That way more people can interact.

Rooms 8,9,10,11 are crew quarters. #12 can be as well. Jon has a room, Grace has a room (do not go into Grace's room), and Stephanie has a room in the infirmary. So JC, Tess and Angela all need a room. I do not remember where Tess was before.

I believe each square is 5 feet.

I have put down the history as i have it and stopped trying to write a novel on it. Anything you want to add to the history, let me know but I think it stands well for now.

I will need to know who is taking what rooms on the ship. As well I will need to know who is going the the meeting and who is staying on the ship. Stephanie will always stay on ship unless otherwise asked. Captain will be in #3, Grace in her room under the engines.
