Subject: weekend

The weekend got away from me between the university tours for Mmv and the search for RED hot wheel shoes for Incrediboy (long story). I will be working up a post today.

On a sad note, Teller has left both Rocinante and Destiny. Something about to much drama on the inn. So I will play out Jessie and see about getting someone to take Tess in Destiny. I am open to suggestions.

On that note - did we lose Connor as John? I have not seen anything from him in awhile.

Subject: Is someone gonna check the room? Maybe the NPC

Crow steps forward to be cleaning by the silver thing and appreciates the drying effect of both bow and arrows. At least he had a functional weapon again.

He decided to do a perimeter check of the room. The Closet door was large, oak and bound in steel. The door had no lock on it and when Crow listened closely to it, he heard nothing that sounded like movement or mage. As Dudley was putting out the food, the ranger glanced at the cage but could only figure it was for a small animal like a cat or rodent - and probably for travel. Whatever destroyed it, broke out from within judging by the wreckage.

The cabinet in the corner was a solid construction of metal and was locked. Crow could see through the frosted glass that within were decanters and bottles - perhaps even a few glasses. "If you are looking for spirits for the feast." he said aloud, "I think there are some in here, though the door is locked. I can force it but that may break whatever is inside."

The black openings in the room were a caution to Crow. He picked up a piece of the cage and gently poked the blackness. The piece was swallowed up and the blackness seemed to draw it in - magic portal no doubt.

The final wooden door down the hallway was without a lock and Crow listened carefully. He heard something faint. Could be the wind, or the animal that escaped the cage or something making a low faint moaning.

You would need a similar engine at least and a ASREV is a short range vessel. Specifically a Trace Compression Block engine that uses the compression coil for most of the main functionality. A Hornet class, Dragonfly, and a few salvage machine would be examples.

The Cleaning Golem goes after the party members and the wet floor like .... a cleaning tornado. Soon you are all dry as well as your clothing, armour and what little equipment you have. Once you are clean, the device goes back to wandering the room in search for a speck of dust or dirt. No amount of talking or touching it seems to distract it from its path.

The fireplace gives of warmth and light but does not seem to burn fuel – the logs within are decorative only.

Subject: timeline

The time that has passed is less than 20 minutes so for since you asked them to build so - no. Not enough time

Based of the tools you have given the boys they can build four bombs. Three will be either pin pull detonation or impact (they will rig them to go either way). They will be area fragment explosions that should kill or do damage in a 20 foot range and each is the size of a breadbox. These will take one hour to complete

The fourth on is a heavy on that the used a crybaby canister and that can be rigged for a radio detonation. This is a big boom, capable of destroying a aircraft or at least a section of a building. Note - they scavenged all of Ma's sterno and cooking oil to make this. Completion of this one is one hour after the others.

Sheldon thinks he could make an effective "real" missile from one of your decoy missiles. But he needs more grenades, detonators and a high glucose syrup. That will take two hours more.

Wyatt is talking to Matherson around 9:10. Figuring 10 minutes to complete conversation and then time to get to the shuttle - then the message from Willow across the ship and comms would be just as the shuttle is taking off. Albert is away right now so if Bro could reply to the call and let me know if you will land again to check out the problem of sabotage on the ship.

I will say it here to avoid the doubts - someone got into the engine room and the compression coil is now gone. Vanished except a whole lot of dust, which makes no sense to anyone. This means that you are officially humped - no repairs will lift you off without a new coil.

I feel like I am lingering here too much so I hope this weekend to whoosh us forward an hour or two. Opinions are always welcome.

A crewman bunk would include a bed, a toilet and wash basin that fold up for space, a locker to put your personal things and numerous hooks and clips to hang personal items.

It has already been established that Grace knows the airducts and access tubes of Destiny better than anyone, which is how she lead the Bounty Hunter astray for so long.

As to the instructions for Angela, if there is some way I can assist, let me know.

As soon as the Cidal cleric moves towards the fire, the silver oval shaped thing spins and turns towards him, moving at speed, or as much speed as its stubby legs can move. But, suddenly, a bright light flashed from the top of the thing and engulfs Dudley in its ray.

The light disappears and Dudley is .....

very clean and dry. His clothes, his hair, even the makeshift club he carries is now spotlessly clean.

The Watermelon of Cleanliness starts to move toward the party and the puddle that is forming underneath them.

Subject: here we go

Maithias Crowmarhte washed ashore of the island. The cold wind blew a chill through the Sylvari body and he was battered and bruised from the trip to shore. But he was alive, and for that he was thankful.

He looked around the island and area where he had landed. Other survivors were ashore – one of them appeared to be a naked Khord, Crow didn’t feel so bad as at least he had his armour. Sodden, soaked and cold armour but at least he had that. But the realization dawned upon him that he was without gear or weapons now. His matching swords were at the bottom of the sea with the remains of the ship.

He forced himself up and began to scour the shoreline, hoping against hope that something of his would have made it here. After some time, he spots something – a quiver bobbing in the water. He runs out and gathers it up to find that the gods have been merciful and that it is his bow, quiver and....five arrows. Well, better than no arrows at all, but the bow string is wet, and the arrows’ fletching are soaked. He’d need somewhere to dry them, and with the weather and barrenness of the island, he wasn’t sure about a fire.

He wandered the shore line for a awhile but found nothing of use. Then he wandered over to where the others were gathering. The Grim Khord Priest was there (good, he does have armour), the two Cidals (how did they survive?), a sea man (how did he manage to keep the hat?), and another Syl (the mage if he remembered correctly) were gathering together.

"HO My Friends! How Fare Ye?" Gamand asks.

"Dolphins and devilfish!" Wembly exclaimed, shaking himself much like a wet hound coming in from a thundershower. He looked out over the sea. "Ha! That was some storm, Sea Queen! It will make for an excellent tale around a fire"

“Well,” Alôndas said as he limped closer, “I am glad to see that we at least made it.”
Wembley piped up, "Alan, right? Remember me? The dabbling cid from the Brynnandells? Oh, am I so glad to see that you made it. Now we can finish that story I was telling you about the other day. Remember? I was about to tell about the time I escaped from a orc raid party. Oh, you should have seen it... that pair of brown bears I conjured up was a work of art."

"Anyone else cold?" Wembley interrupted himself, shivering. "I could really use some shelter."

"Odd group...” Mal muttered the very thought that Crow was thinking.

“I’ll scout around.” Crow volunteers. ”I can’t promise anything but who know what I might find. Did anyone find any food or flint for a fire?”

The news that they had some food was good to hear but the lack of fire building was a worry. Crow set out wordlessly to search the island for a dream and a miracle.

And he may have found it. Just as darkness falls, you discover at the center of the island a shallow depression with a stone door. The door is unlocked and when opened reveals a descending stone stairway. At its bottom is another door of an unfamiliar material.

“Well now,” The Syl mage said with a smile, “shall we see what lies beneath? Perhaps we can find out what happened to the other people that appear to have been shipwrecked here before us. One other thing," he added before there was an answer, "who is leader here?"

"I'll lead this party! Oh! Oh! Pick me, Alan! Pick me! I can do it!" The excitable Wembley volunteered happily, drawing a smile from Mal.

“Wait, what? No, my name is Alôndas,” the mage said putting a strange ‘closed’ sounding accent on the ‘o’ which is common on Sylvari from the Northern Kingdom, “and I think it best if someone a little…. taller be leader. They’re better able to see over everyone and see the entire picture. You see?”

Mal leans on the wall before the door and says, "It hardly matters, so long as we all be knowin' we'll need each other to survive... assumin' that is even an option at this point. If'n we keep a warrior at each end o' the group, and ya magical beings in the center, we should be fine." He pauses, looking at the group before him. None were near equipped for an adventure of any kind, himself included.
"I be willin' to take point, if'n you be willin' to guard the rear, Syl" He says to Crow, nodding to the bow. "You bein' the best armed to help any position, 'specially bein' most o' the others are short enough to shoot over."

“Crow.” The ranger says, “Call me Crow and I shall call you Mal, but not Captain. My bow is useless until we can get it dry so you may lead for now. I am used to working on my own so don’t be expecting me to wait for orders though.”

“While I agree that, until we know the situation here, it would be best for us to work together,” he addressed the group, “but order is important and if we get into any situations, it is always good to have someone to make the tough decision.” Alôndas said, “Since you seem to have an understanding of tactics,” he said to Malrinn, “and you appear to like to give orders, perhaps you would to volunteer to lead us.

“Plus, you do seem to be tall enough for the job,” he added with a faint smile as his eyes flickered to Wembley.

“Well what are we waiting for, there is surely food and shelter in there, let’s go” Dudley asked eagerly.

With the swashbuckler in the lead the party descends the stone stairs. Even with the opening above, it is very dark once you reach the bottom. The door is black, with no handle or way to hold. When Mal touches it, he finds that he and the party are suddenly drawn into the blackness and into ....

The room is dark green. On the walls are gold fabric wall hangings and paintings of wilderness landscapes. A watermelon shaped metal object is moving back and forth across the floor in a regular pattern. It has two stubby legs and feet but no head or arms. Against one wall is a simple oak table next to a large corner cabinet of dull metal. On the oak table is what appears to be a wooden cage (for a small animal perhaps?) smashed to pieces. In the other corner is a wooden closet door. A mirror on the opposite wall has a very heavy filigreed frame of unfamiliar metals. Two comfortable sofas and two chairs are arranged in front of a fireplace which glows with a fire and gives off a lovely warmth. Across from the fireplace is what looks like a pitch-black doorway, and to the right a sort of hallway leading to another black opening. In the hallway is also a wooden door. (map to follow in QnA)

I certainly can bring out more adventures afterwards if so desired. I am not looking for long lengthy posts - no more than you would say at a table top game - unless you want to and can handle the time constraint.

Persephone, Eavesdown Docks, Badger’s Office, 6:00 pm ST

With a possible job in hand, everyone prepared themselves for the meeting. JC readied his weapons and had Grace do a calibration on his arm so he’d have optimal control over it. Angela received instructions from Jon and Grace as to what her role would be at the meeting. Tess prepared the Lucky charms she wanted for such a meeting and although she took her pistol with her, she hoped that there would be no shooting as it is usually bad for business.

(please let me know what you are bringing to meeting)

Persephone, while considered a civilized planet by Alliance standards, was still home to a large slum population. Therefore, one could find both the pinnacle of high society and the depths of the criminal underworld amidst the planet's famously tiered societal structure. Eavesdown Docks was a sprawling slum of shanty houses made of scrap metal, canvas and whatever would stand up long enough to put a nail through it.

It did not take long for Jon, Tess, JC and Angela to find where they were going, as the entrance was well guarded by thugs and goons brazenly armed with machine guns and assault rifles. A large Chinese man greets you and asks to see your ID, then checks a clipboard before showing you the way in without so much as a pat down or gun check. As you move down the tunnel, you pass numerous armed guards along the way as well as build in flash doors that can seal you in faster than you could run.

Located below street-level, Badger’s office is filled with all manner of junk. Fishnet hangs from the ceiling. A pin-up girl adorns one wall, along with signs in Chinese characters. Badger sits in a leather office chair behind a desk made of overturned crates. His desk is cluttered with cheap replicas of old timey objects, such as an apple peeler, two types of scales, an old-fashioned office phone, wire baskets stuffed with papers, and a funny-looking lamp, among other stuff. Sacks of grain are underfoot. An ornate curtain doubling as a door lends an air of sophistication to the place—at least to Badger’s way of thinking. There are armed guards in every corner, as well as two other well dressed men who stand at the side. farthest from the entrance. There is a table set in the centre of the room with sandwiches (smells like tunafish), cookies and a couple of pitchers of a orange coloured liquid.

A ma stands leaning on the desk. He is not a tall man, but he wears a tweed suit and wears a bowler style hat and appears to be completely unarmed. His smile is inviting but his eyes are sly. He looks you all over quickly, assessing you based on your body language, dress and choice of weapons. He goes over Angela in a second, while looking over Tess and Jon longer, but he spends a long moment on JC, as if he is trying to remember something.

“Hello,” He speaks in a Dyton accent (Cockney), “Which one of you is Jonathan Brown?”

(Although Badger speaks in an accent, I am not going to write in one because I find it distracting and I’m lazy that way. I will assume that you will make some form of introductions)

Badger smiles but makes no attempt to shake hands. He gestures to the table before you, “Since this is our first face to face, I thought we’d start out on the right foot. Compliements of me – I’m Badger. Now I hears that you have a fast ship and that you are reliable. That be two things I have a real use for right now.”

Persephone, Eavesdown Docks, On Board Destiny, 6:00 pm ST

Grace had a feeling that this job would be a go, and since it involved passengers, she decided to check all the passenger rooms – just to make sure there were no surprises. Not that there were any reasons to expect surprises, but to Grace’s way of thinking, that was the best time to check for them. Once she felt assured that everything was on order, she also checked the now spare rooms on the main floor. Angela had refused a cabin, and moved herself into the empty storage closet – no amount of convincing would change her mind and Grace didn’t see the point in spending a lot of energy trying. It made Angela feel better to be in closed in spaces – she came to notice that. She had her own quirks that she expected people to respect so she respected others. With passengers coming aboard soon, she would probably be spending a lot of time in her own room or the engine room.

Stephanie was working away in the infirmary, keeping herself busy. The doctor worried a lot when Jon was off on a job or getting a job. In order to stop herself from fretting, she kept herself busy. Part of her yearned for the Villa that her and Jon shared but she knew that life was not for him.
