Topic: Recruitment for 3.5 Eberron Game Subject: Recruitment for 3.5 Eberron Game
Heya, I'm looking to Dm an Eberron game, 3.5 edition. Looking for 3-4 players, who are going to be dedicated to this game. I don't want people who will be leaving after a while or anything of the sort. I'll get more information on the game as interest peaks, but for a quick synopsis of character it will go like this:
32 point buy for stats
will be able to use all core books, and any of the complete series along with PHB II and any eberron source book.
All standard races plus orc & Goblinoids. If you don't know in Eberron these races are much more tolerated than other settings, as they once ruled the lands before the age of man.
Lvl starting at 2.
Just a quick word on the game, it will be starting out with a militaristic background, so whatever character you make they will have been involved in the last war.
also post quality. I will require that you have correct spelling and that you submit at least a paragraph, and that's for combat posts. I'm not asking for novels, but at least some sort of effort put into the posts.

Topic: New Spores of Itanlok ~ 1 ~ A Short Adventure in Audalis Subject: Alright, first time in a long time so if I made a mistake, please forgive...
Kharov had heard that the children went missing some time ago after the search parties had been already dispatched. He was traveling to the Spores of Itanlok to join in the celebrations after he had been relieved of his patrol duty, hoping for a strong brew of his favorite rum-root ale but all he got upon arrival were frantic Khords who were going on about strange wounds and children missing.
After asking who went out and how many he tried to follow the best he could after the largest search party, and soon found strange holes in the ground. He touched the earth and studied it, imagining the struggles that took place and where they were led off to, soon following reluctantly off of the beaten path into the looming mushroom forest.
By Kharox, this forest is almost as dense as my cousin Dunkarl! I hope it doesn't get to thick or I might even be able to squeeze through...
After what seemed like a half an hour of slowly progressing through oddly shaped mushroom foliage, Karov made it to a small clearing where the path of one set of spiked legs turned to what seemed like many. He questioned his sanity when he examined the ground and the many pock marks, until from above him he heard a hiss, and an Ankheg descended onto his back.
" Ah! You damned bug by Kharox's beard if you don't get off me my axe'll do it for you!"
He rolled over and pushed the Ankheg off as it bit at him with its hungry mandibles, and soon he was able to stand and get ground in between him and the beast. He drew his shield and axe, ready to fight the bug til death.
"You must be what has been taking all o' the children. If any have fallen to your kind, I'll make sure ten more of you are cracked like an egg over my axe!"
With his battle under way he charged in, ready to either kill or be killed. He and the Ankheg traded dodges, parries, and blows until he finally cleaved the head in two with a mighty swing and the beast fell at his feet. Karov smiled and sheathed his axe and shield ready to continue, until two more Ankhegs burst from the shadows and dragged him down...
It wasn't till what seemed like a life time later that Karov woke up, and he was being dragged by an Ankheg down a long tunnel. The insect didn't know he was awake, but he could see other Ankhegs crawling around him so he decided to play unconscious until he found his final destination.
Twenty minutes later the Ankheg dropped Karov off into a cave, where many more insects were tending to these bumps on the walls. He had never seen anything like this before, and to his luck the Ankheg had skittered off to help another with one of the bumps. Without a moments notice he had jumped to hit feet and dove between two boulders that were holding each other up. He was hiding in a divot beneath the two rocks, trying to stay out of sight of the many Ankheg that are all over the walls.
Karov, how are you going to get out of this one? Who knows what those lumps are and only Kharox knows how many Ankheg are up there ready to pounce if I run down that tunnel! I might as well wait it out, sooner or later something has to happen...
Thirty minutes passed and all he could succeed at doing was pushing back the Ankheg chatter as dull noise, which was probably the reason why Karov heard them before he had seen them. Four Khords walked into the big cave, and seemed just as awe-struck as he was when he had seen the Ankheg infested cave. No matter their appearance, they were a welcome sight compared to these bugs and mushrooms.
He had noticed that they Ankhegs seemed to preoccupied with the lumps to notice them, so he started to crawl his way out to meet the group. He stood up thirty feet away from them out from beneath two large rocks, and made his way over.
Karov was clad in full plate, a large shield, an intricately designed war axe with blue gems worked into it, and his black hair pulled back tight with his beard braided into one large braid. His beard had two silver clasps sealing the braid together, one at the top and the other at the bottom like a cap, covering the ends that would usually stick out. His crossbow swayed front to back and his backpack jiggled with a slight weight as he stepped towards the group, all the while smiling just to see another Khord alive in here.
He met the group and gave a slight bow.
" My names Karov, I'm happy to see other Khords have made it passed the Ankhegs. I've been trying to find out what has been happening to the children here, and I ended up drug into this cave. I'm assuming your here for the same cause, so I would ask if I would be able to join you. I know it is all sudden and we just met, but I don't think time is a factor that is on our side."

Been a while since I played a game on the inn, thanks for letting me play guys =]
I looked at the group composition and I think I'm going to roll up some sort of melee for the group, but I don't want to say what I have in mind until Almerin gives me approval and in case it might want to be a secret for a small amount of time

Topic: Update on Dragon Mistress. Subject: =[
I remember playing many games with the both of you, I really hope DM gets out of that hospital soon enough and it's good to hear that you never gave up on her. It went from doctors asking to pull the plug to her being up and walking around. Goes to show you what doctors really know some times, eh? Just listen to what you feel and sometimes your gut feelings are right more often than not, so GL with everything and I hope for more small steps forward.

Topic: Gamer Stigma Subject: *sigh*
This is why I'm glad I go to college and the gaming stigma is nill. I openly DM games and play MTG and WoW and all of these awesome things and people might look as " what is that?" But I proudly keep on doing what I do and don't let anyone get me down. If they have a problem with it I happily tell them they don't need to stick around. Just keep your chin up and be proud of who you are. =]

Braxtue slid on his armor quickly, hopping on one foot as he put his boot on.
" Damned food makin' me sleepy, napped almost a whole hour away!"
He put on his pack and grabbed a handfull of gear that he had collected, and rushed out the door heading to the castle to be debriefed on the main mission.
" I wonder how late I'll be. No matter, obviously they can just tell me. Hmph, we'll see how this goes over."
He rushed through the streets and out the gate, making as fast as he can down the dirt road heading to the castle.
After running, jogging, and briskly walking he arrived, and walked up to the gates...
( If the gates are closed, he'll introduce himself as the fifth champion summoned, and if there open he'll just run in)

Braxtue looked up to the king as he spoke, and then grunted.
"Of course, walk all the way out here just to get sent back to where we came. Bah!"
He lazily walked back to his guild and started to gather up supplies, taking the best of what his fellow guildmates would let him take. He was mainly looking for things that would help in a pinch like thunder stones, tanglefoot bags, caltrops, things like that. But he did keep an eye out for any weapon that he might like to grab up also.

Topic: Fractured Shards: Game Thread Subject: Update
The group had signed up and now they are getting prepared for the next days travels. Word was that the meeting ground for departure would be at first tower, the caravan leaving from Sharn earlier that morning and meeting there.
As everyone was getting settled to wait for the next morning in their various places, most people stayed in the inn as that was where their room was. People were laughing and drinking and having an all around good time, two voices could be heard being raised over everyone. One very large hob goblin and a half orc were having a shouting match, apparently about some happening earlier that day.
" You did not beat me at all, your rock was lighter and you could throw it farther. I call for another event!"
The ruddy looking hob goblin challenged the half orc, who in turn stood up and pointed his finger in the hob goblins face. At the same time, Beau walked into the door back from his stroll with Dron.
" My rock was just as heavy, if not heavier then yours. You just dun wanna 'cept the fact that I'm better den you! But if ya gotsta make yourself feel better, den I'll beat you again!"
The half orc laughed, and the hob goblin then stood up, and banged the table.
" I am not a liar, and I know you were cheating some how!"
He looked very angry, and a longsword could be seen on his hip. A large mace was worn by the orc, and they both were quite burly. Who knows what could happen with this, either a grand challenge or a bloody mess.
