Xaris walked into the tavern with his companions, and felt the stares immediately fall upon them. He was sure enough that none of them have ever seen a real drow, or even knew what kind of gnome he was. But none the less, he sat down with his friends in the corner, and began to take an order. He looked down the menu and ordered a broth with vegetables, and a good sized portion of bread.

Before he ever left the forest, he was never used to this kind of food. But now, he was quite aware of what he liked and didn't like.

Before they had walked into this tavern, Xaris had no desire to buy anything. He was perfectly content with the items he had on his person, and waited outside the tavern for his companions.

He watched Aelistae go up to the cage, and he decided to follow. Not only because his gnomish curiousity got the best of him, but also to make sure nothing happens to his friend.

He approached up behind her, and spoke waist level to the two people.

" Yes, how much would three reaches cost? I would like to purchase them."

I'll make the wand and potions party gear for sure. I cant use them without knowing what they are first, so might as well throw them in the community chest. Would it be alright with you guys if I posted getting them identified?

yeah I much rather not use it. Besides, He wont give up using his fathers sword willingly for some spear that could kill him in the process.

Well there arent that many pages in the game, so you can easily read them. and just send me a lvl 6 character that you want, and I'll edit you in. But you will have to wait later on like Deraj, since you wont be playing his character.

I really think that the potions and the wand should be all kept. Also I will post later on today as right now it would take me longer than I have to get one out. Also I have a wand, a disc, and some potions that need identifying, so if anyone would like to help me with that, that would be great.

Well then just shoot down Beinsels comment with a quick " We cant split up dummy!" comment. And Almerin yeah, sorry about not being more active. Every day brings the end of the year closer which means final project and graduation are creeping up too =/....so I was kinda side tracked for a bit.

Beinsel stood by and watched the tide of words flow back and forth. Screams and then calmly forced words. Back and forth. He fidgeted where he stood, thinking of what to do. He knew he needed to do something.

From what he had heard it seems that they have pretty much waisted a day only to most likely regress at drawing attention at the court house. Now some of them were more " famous" then others, obviously himself and Percifeer for being gawked at the entire time. And others who have stayed back in the crowd have the advantadge of not being as well known at this point. also they have wasted some time.

But then he decided. He had listened to the last few comments and finally drew a conclusion.

Llammoth was right. The heart does not really have any closing times, but honest working store owners do. And he was feeling the tugs of the hunger string, so he made up his mind.

" I feel it is right if now we head towards the shops and taverns for a good meal, and to meet up with our sister. But I also say we head straight to the heart afterwards, if we can. We shouldnt be too tired, and who would'nt want to walk off that few extra pounds we would put on from eating? A nice little stroll could be good for us all."

Loda awoke on the ground refreshed, and for a second she wondered if the entire thing that had happened was fabricated within her own mind. The contrast between the shining sun and singing birds, this glorious white tree by them and the horrid battlefield before seemed to surreal. But she looked around, and smiled. There glorious battle was everything but fake, and she petted Gothard who lay next to her, rolling around in the grass. She sat u, and realized that she was very hungry, and thirsty. Not having anything for a while and fighting so hard really drove her pallette crazy.

She looked down at Gheim who was in his lap, and held his head, remembering how hard all three of them, Gheim, Gothard and herself fought to keep him alive. She gave a small thanks to her patron god and opened her eyes to see Gheim looking back up at her.

"Your a sight for sore eyes there lassy. Best thing I have seen in a while. That was some powerful healing you did. I fell fine as a fittle except my eyes are all yucky like I over slept.Damn tree tried to kill me. Nearly did I have you to thank for that. It felt like a bear had hug the breath out of me. I know it was bad as I was out walking the Great Dwarven Road and was almost to the gates of Kharox's Great Hall. Mighty fine place that it is. Ach! Enough of this laying a about. Give me a hand there Loda lass I have to see whats happened. I guess we won this one. Is everyone else okay?"

Gheim got up, and so did she, standing by his side for the moment.

"You know lass you are a comely lass when you have no time for all that drinking--it is bad for you health. Never mind lass forget I mentioned it I don't know why I did."

Lodas eyebrow raised as he made those comments, and a smile spread across her face. She never had a reason to stop drinking as much as she did before, but if it was to get with this fine dwarf here, she would cut back.

" Gheim, I am glad that I brought you back. When I seen that you were in trouble I did'nt hesitate at all to save ya. I could'nt let such a fine specimen of dwarf slip through my fingers so easy."

Loda winked at Gheim, and smiled.

" And if you would think of me as much as I think of you just by laying off the drink, I'll do it in a heartbeat!"

Loda slapped Gheim on the butt, and walked off towards the tree, laughing loudly to herself with Gothard by her side

Well it could possibly have connections with the cult, but I dont think Aramil or Mourn would make the connection right away at just the sight of a claw bracer. And remember, your characters arent really sure what they are doing here in the first place, all they know is that they are going to rescure children from bandits. And I rather not say anything to loud, because others havent read anything about the Pool of Radiance source book. Unless you want me to make a lore check for Aramil, as she is a cleric.

And so it was that the adventuring group would head out of the town, and into the woods. The morning would seem to be the perfect setting for a stroll through the woods; The sun shining embracing everyone with its warm rays, the birds diddling about through the clear blue skies of the town chirping back and forth above the rooftops.

They stepped out of the village and into the small stretch of rolling hills between them and the forest, following a well beaten foot path. The walk would easily only take a mere ten minutes or so, giving everyone a good morning stretch before they hit the woods.

It grew cooler as they approached the tall wood, the trees trapping all of the morning fog and dew within their leafy branches. The five of them approached the edge of the wood with some slight caution, as the stories of the village folk being kidnapped still ran through their minds. But in they went, walking in the direction they were told. They followed a very old woodsmen trail, obvious by the large tree stumps dotting the edge of the path. Everything in the forest seemed normal with squirrels and birds and rabbits all about. But that serenity was disrupted with the finding of tracks. Mourn and Aramil, standing side by side both looked upon the semi fresh boot prints upon the soft ground. Upon further exploring it seemed that common shoes were mixed in with the heavy boot tracks. Mourn looked up, and through the brush could see that the tracks lead north west still, in the direction the villagers said. But soon they become to obscure to follow. Raolno wandered up the path a bit, and stepped on something. He bent down to pick up a well made but broken arrow, already snapped before he got to it. He looked back, and seen he was a ways away from the group, but in the direction the tracks lead.

The quietness of the woods was disturbed however, as a not so quiet band rose out of a thick batch of shrubs, and dove into a small clearing. Five figures wearing hooded half cloaks, three in studded leather armour and two in chainmail, come out and rise from a kneeling position from their hiding places in the shrubs. Four have readied shortbows. The fifth has a strange clawlike weapon attached to his left wrist that extends past his hand.

The group of four elves and a halfling stood at one side of the clearing in the woods, and this ambush at the other, a fight looked inevitable as one of the short bow wielding men fired a shot at Rao. But he stumbled on his way out of the bushes, and lands on the ground in an awkward position. A tiny shriek broke the vocal silence as he rolled over off of his hand, which was at a painful angle in the ground.

With this break it gave Aramil a moment to think. She glanced at the claw like bracer that was worn by the man behind the four others, and then it clicked in her head. The Cult of the Dragon. A shiver suddenly came over her as she realized that they were dealing with much more than just bandits wanting a bounty. It all became to serious to her, knowing that if they fail now, being ransomed would not be their fate.

( Ok, rolled a fumble for the first attack of the campaign. I wonder if that reflects what will happen through out? Oh, and good luck everyone!)

Oh and if no one else says anything, I'll let Kaelyn keep the spear. No need to identify it or anything as the previous owners knew what it was and just assume they told you. It is a +2 short spear.
