Xaris watched as the commotion around him went on. He seen the man run away at an amazing speed, and knew he could'nt do much about that. But he did watch the new found prisoner beg for his life. The people all around him seemed caught up in a large commotion, with everyone spread out, doing their own thing. He needed to get their attention to set ground of what they should do. He needed to do something. Quickly Xaris lifted the new conch of his with his two hands to his lips, and blew hard. He remembered how it made him halt in his steps, and maybe he could get the attention of everyone around him to organize this scattered event.

After he blew his conch, he yelled out.

" Listen! There is no time to fight, we have one prisoner, and one man running. Tonight was one of the most wreckless nights I've had, and we all just need to buckle down and get some rest, get organized atleast."

Xaris mumbled the last bit to himself, in response the the scattered group, with some of them still missing.

Lheriel smiled as his rapier finally penetrated the evil ones defences. With renewed vigour, he assailed the fiend once again, rapier and shortsword jabbing and stabbing away.

Jeskell reached for another arrow, now even looking to see if his second shot hit. He needed to help down this creature, and the only way he would do that is try an make a pin cusion out of him. He left another arrow sail through the air.

Xaris helped Artanis across the bridge, and brushed himself off of some last dangling spider webbing that he acquired on his trip down below. He was about to speak and ask if everyone was ok, especially the young boy that was now with them, when a cry was heard that froze everyone in their place.

"Thieving whore of a wench!"

To Xaris, this new and alien voice made him draw his gnomish greatsword in automatic response. New people always made him nervous, and especially if it was this late at night, it could almost guarantee trouble.

He quickly looked around, and Artanis spoke out, volantarily staying back.

“Go quickly! I will stay with the boy!”

Xaris felt slightly relieved that the issue of the boy was quickly dealt with, and that Artanis will stay behind. Bringing this young child into the danger would be absolutely redundant.

He looked at Loriel who seemed to be just as pleased as he was with being able to go. He ran off, just behind Loriel, up to the mouth of the cave to whatever might ail there comrades up above now.

Lheriel could'nt believe it. This had dodged almost every attack he has thrown at him. The only thing he could do was attack and attack. He twirled around his short sword and lunged again, striking down onto the assailant again and again. He was bound to penetrate in one place or another.

Jeskell smiled as he seen his arrow lodge into the foe. He wasn'nt invulnerable after all. He notched another arrow, and stepped back to try an get a better shot, hoping his next arrow bites in deeper than last.

Xaris helped Artanis up, a smile spread across his face. He was glad to see his up, even in pain. It meant that she was alive, could feel, comprehend what was happening, instead of lying on the floor, fighting for every breathe.

" Here, let me help you. The bridge is up, and Kas has her horse on the other side. We'll get you out of here soon."

Xaris helps Artanis up, and walks close to her, keeping her balanced if she stumbles a bit. When they get to the bridge, Xaris steps forward.

" Ok, how we're gonna do this is you get on your hands and knees, and crawl first. I'll be behind you to make sure you dont fall. Kas can even tie the rope around you incase anything happens. But I'm light enough hopefull so two people wont matter."

Xaris looks behind himself to Kas, and gestures for the rope.

" Kas, toss the rope so that we can tie Artanis with it for safety."

" I found a little place down there, behind that door. A pool of crystal clear water with moss that glew like an oddly lit camp fire. A small creature, who I gave all my gold for these treasures was down there. We talked, and I felt sorry for it. He was swept away from his home, and now is stuck down there."

Xaris looked back across and knew he had to cross the ladder.

" But I can tell you more later. I am not sure they are healing, but with all that has gone wrong tonight, I think we have run out of bad luck. Blue potions have been healing in the past and I just hope that these are the same. Good luck to you."

Xaris put them in his pack, and started to cross the ladder, to where he would give his fallen friend one of the blue potions.

Xaris gets pulled up and is happy to see a familiar face. He quickly remembers what he has and pulls out the two blue potions.

" Here. I dont know if these are healing or not, but I am almost certain they are. Give these to her and hope for the best."

Xaris runs down the hallway, unsheathing his greatsword, the memories of the sanctuary below his feet fading, giving way to new ones of war and how to take out these orcs, when he meets them.

Lheriel was surprised that his attacks were batted away, but now that the man was held tightly by this....thing he was going at it again with full force. He held both of his blades tightly and attacked him again with lightning speed, jabs and slashes blurring by.

Jeskell Stood back and drew another arrow for his longbow. He steadily drew the arrow back, and waited for a precise time to fire, hopefully felling this evil man.

Xaris waited by in the hole for his companions to come to his aid. Surely the warhorse that was there when he left could lift him up again. But then a sound that was now familiar raised the hairs on the back of his neck. He could here the quiet whistle of arrows flying above him, and knew fighting had commenced again. Without hesitation Xaris started climbing the wall that was opposite of the way he came down, so he would end up near his fallen companion. These potions could save her life, and no stinking greenskin was going to steal her away now.

Xaris bent down and picked up the wand, its ivory shaft the whitest and purest thing he's ever seen. Its quartz head was equally beautiful. He took his three new gifts, and turned toward his pack, putting the wand and the coin in their for now, he held the conch in one hand, and the pouch in the other. As he was standing in the mouth of the entrance, he turned towards the creature and smiled.

" I hope I have brought you joy, friend. I shall come back again, on my return trip through here, and bring you more gifts from across the country. Me and you share one thing, that we have lost our home, and are ultimately alone. I will be back. Good bye."

He waved and started his walk up the path, staring at the conch, the thing that made him stop in his tracks on his way down. He got to the door, and put the conch away safely and tieying the pouch to his belt, and pried the door open. He turned it back shut, and made sure it was closed tight, so nothing would come down here possibly harm his new friend. He looked up at the hallway above, and heard voices, glad his friends are still here.

" Kas, I have gotten some potions! I think they are healing but am not sure. I will explain later how I had gotten them, but not I think they might save Artanis!"

With that, the mighty gnome stood, hoping that they would soon get him out of the pit, and up to his friend in need.

Xaris chuckled at the creature and its simple amusement, as he took out his coin purse and held it high into the air, above the water. He smiled as he overturned the pouch, letting all of its contents fall into the crystaline water. As the rain of coins ended, he haded the leather pouch to the creature.

" Here, you can even have the bag itself. I have no need right now for this much coin. It's yours. I hope you find serenity with this, as I feel sympathy for you losing your home also, not being able to get it back. And yes, the shiny stick would be nice to have, it may save me and my friends one day."

Xaris smiled at the excitement of the creature. He then reached into his pouch, and pulled out five platinum and thirty gold. He set them on the floor below him, and stood back up. He wondered about the words that the creature spoke, and remarked on them. He opened the pouch to see two and a half potions inside, blue and muddy grey. he sighed in relief at the thougth and hopes that those two could be healing potions.

" How did you come to live here then, if this is'nt your home. And do you know why the moss is glowing?"

Xaris looked at the creature, and then back at the items by his feet. He wondered what each of them did, and decided what two to take.

" I am glad you like my gifts. The two treasures of yours that I will take will be the leather pouch, and the conch shell."

Xaris bent down and took the conch shell and the leather bag, just like how the creature had taken his things. He hoped maybe healing potions were inside the bag, to help the ones who need it.

" I thank you for your gifts. Would you know what any of them do, or why this cave is here in the first place? If you need more shinies, I can give them to you. Maybe even give you even shinier things for you last treasure?"

Xaris looked around the room, and stared at the bottom of the pool. He jumped a bit when the creature swam to the bottom to get a few things, and brought them up. One was a large gold looking coin, another a leather pouch, and another a conch of the most beautiful blue hues he's ever seen.

His skin began to crawl though when it spoke out, its small and slender form not matching the grotesque voice that came from it.

“My treasures. You want treasure You trade your treasure for my treasure?”

Uh yes, yeah whatever can help. Xaris walked over to his pack and took the belt out of his backpack. He never knew what it did, but it did have some magical properties. It was large in size so hopefully he could trade it to the creature for all three. He lifted the belt and brought it the edge, also adding in nine of his gold pieces.

" Uhh, will this do? This belt, I got it off of a large Ogre me and my friends killed up above. It is magical, but what it does I do not know."
