So hello. I'm a big fan of this comic. Major fan. Love it.
I decided to join. I posted this before on my main forum I'm member at, and was shocked that t_catt found it. (Plaidman).
I'm a slightly disabed male, working on my degree in pharmacy, worked at a convience store in Portland Oregon for 6 years, been DMing and playing DnD and other roleplaying games for almost ten years now.
Anyway, I'm a memember now. I'll just uh, hid in the background.
The elf is chained up in my basement at the moment... but I'll let him out for this special occassion
Welcome! Glad you finally came out of the closet and decided to join us! One of us... one of us...
Let us know if you need anything (except a glass of Romulan Ale, I'm saving that for something really special )!
Bacon huh? There is always a bacon member. There is a member at my other forum who eats bacon and raves about Bacon.
I won't bore you how I got my user hame of Dracons. I'll just say he was the first offical full on Fantasy Character I ever wrote a full book on. Full name Dracons Nighthawk.
After several people laughed at the stupidity of the story, I destroyed it. Now it lives on in my head, and for the various people who asked for a synopis of it. I was like, 12 when I wrote it, but it was broken down into 3 /books/ of 300 pages each.
I like writing, and have alot of short stories. They suck. Alot to other people anyway. But I like them. They are a part of me, and were my only friends during my lonely and friendless teen years. That and my like, 7 year adventure with my best friends of Lego figures. ... that was a terrible lonely part and something i'm still bitter about lost normality.
... I'll shut up. Sorry.

Really, effort of that magnitude cannot be repelled.
900 pages?! I am humbled, good sir!
Hold on a sec *grabs towel and offers same* It's the ones who don't get warned who get got the worst by the Infamous FaceLick. Eol truly is the Zen Master of that. If I were you I'd check under your eyelids, too! *wince!*
So, in short, here's a spiced mead on me by way of Welcome to the Inn!
Be sure to vote at the home page, check out Loaded Dice, and as Odyson said, try some posting games for a warm-up.
Suck is in the eye of the sucker... or something like that.
I don't think there's a writer in the world that can't remember having written "an epic tale" when they were young... and, of course, thought it was the most-awesome-super-boss-freaktastic-tale-ever!!! Then you let other people read it and those other people pick it apart and make you second guess yourself, and then you re-read your most-awesome-super-boss-freaktastic-tale(and possibly edit it some)... The you let other people read it some more and those other people pick it apart some more and you go "Well, crap! Maybe this just SUCKS!"
Nah... dude, you were 12! The fact that you wrote 900 pages at that age says something, at the very least. Anyway, even if, in retrospect, you look back and think "Yeah... the story did kind of suck;" the thing to remember is that even in the suckiest of sucky stories there's a little golden nugget of imagination and inspiration that can be taken from the whole sucky mess and made into something spectacular later on, yeah?
I can't tell you how many sucky stories I've written and discarded over the years, Dracons, but I can tell you that, every now and again, I still go back and pull bits and pieces from each and every one of those crap-piles, weave them into a new tale or somesuch, and find that it wasn't exactly so sucky after all.
As long as what you write makes you happy and gives you a sense of accomplishment and fulfillment, dude, who gives a flyin'-frig-at-a-rolling-donut-on-a-gravel-driveway what anyone else thinks of it?
Did someone say something about Grugg needing lasagne? Is this coffee decaf? Where are my pants?
