I've always understood the Cloak of Protection to stack with the Ring (and some other stuff).
The description in the DMG does assert: 'This device can be combined with other items or worn with leather armor. It cannot function with any sort of magical armor, normal armor not made of leather, or with a shield of any sort.'
This is one of those differences from 3rd and 3.5, which made this kind of thing more restrictive.
But I don't mind if you want to rule otherwise (DM's prerogative).
And Sirene's carrying Haila's spellbook (I think that's what was agreed at any rate).

Thatís all true however in effect the Cloak of Protection is the same as a Ring of Protection and acts as such and if you read the description of the ring youíll see that multiple rings or items of Protection do not stack but the stronger + Protection item functions.
As for the scrolls along with the other items, I have yet to hear from Brianna on if she wants anything so I'm keeping them in the pot for now.
Potion Of Sweet Water:
This liquid is not actually a potion to be drunk (though it tastes good). Sweet water is added to other liquids in order to change them to pure, drinkable water. It will neutralize poison and ruin magical potions (no saving throw). The contents of a single container will change up to 100,000 cubic feet of polluted, salt, or alkaline water to fresh water. It will turn up to 1,000 cubic feet of acid into pure water. The effects of the potion are permanent, but the liquid may be contaminated after an initial period of 5d4 rounds.
...cuz I'm just a lurker buuuuut, from everything I've read, bonuses from a ring of protection +2 and a cloak of protection +2 would not stack... Now, if there was some even minor difference between the two - a ring of protection +2 and a cloak of protection against evil +4, for example - the "basic" protection bonuses still wouldn't stack but the cloak would provide an extra +2 vs evil beings.
Again, I'm not a rules lawyer and would likely allow the cumulative bonus as part of a "house rule" or something but that's just because I don't particularly care for the "limitations" (why give the item away when it's going to do nothing, right? Bonuses should either stack or, conversely, the enchantments on each should be made to conflict and "cancel each other out" (magic is a quirky thing, after all)... But, like I said, I'm no DM, nor am I a rules lawyer or exceedingly well versed on the workings of magic... Feel free to ignore me.
