Yes the steam is an inconvenience, but I donít think a totally unexpected thing when fire and ice met. Just have to deal with it. I think it is a reprieve of sorts; Valene was not in a good spot, everyone is tied up with multiple opponents for the most part. This gives everyone a chance to sort of regroup their thoughts and possibly move to a better tactical position.
Jessica for one wonít be moving out of the room, though it is an option. First, she is new to this house and isnít quite sure which doors lead where, plus she doesnít know that others outside this room are in danger. So unless she received some yelled instructions from Cor, the Leader, she will do what she is doing and try and fight these things which might be at as big a disadvantage as the party. I say might, for knowing our DM, these Bhuts can probably see thru steam.
For once can't you guys just enjoy a post from me instead of dissecting it?
Cone of Cold freezes the moisture from the air causing a solid cone of ice/cold/whatever. DM's call.....
Flame Strike super hot hits Cone of Cold and as both spells hit Black Robe at same time they create steam Fog. DM's call....
Steam fog is good, not bad, allows Valene to disengage herself from two, not one, two big bad Air Elementals WITHOUT taking any damage. Whoo Hoo point good guys.
Bad guys all blinded, Paladin has Blind Fighting, Paladin only one that can melee attack this turn in Dinning room. Whoo Hoo point good guys.
Party in Dinning room have 1 rd maybe 2 rd not seen by bad guys, know Manor by heart no need sight to retreat better fight place. Can maybe regroup with loner members fighting by self (Rayne). Can set trap for when steam fog clear. Whoo Hoo 1, 2, 3 points good guys
Bad guys no points
Bad guys sucking

there is at least one of you who most likely think I should apologize for my above post and that by voicing my frustration I'm a bad DM. However you know what instead there will be no post from me tomorrow. Not being petty I just need a break this week.
Oh and welcome back Gina sorry for the frustration as it is not directed at you in any way.

Peeps, you do have to allow some creative liberty to the DM. Not everything always works out the way we intend it. And you have to allow the final judgement to be made by the DM, or we end up in the paralysis of competing textual analyses (which is not that fun).
Yeah, I like the idea of a tactical retreat. Cor, Val and Jessica can move to the kitchen where there is more room than the hall. Ulthok might pop back to his room to get some weapons. Peri could lead Jessica to the kitchen.
Sirene is in the hall with Lothor so they are strong there.
Rayne could use some help.
If you read this before I post let me know what you think.
Tann has delayed his post so I've got time to work in any team ideas.
