I haven't been in much of creative mood this week. One of the boys that was in scouts with my sons when I was Scoutmaster died over the weekend. He had been on the crew when we went to Philmont. I hope to get at least a brief post yet this weekend.
I'm sorry to hear you lost a young friend Ody but don't worry about posting. As the Cowboys play the late game tomorrow night and no one has so far posted I'll skip posting this week and post on Sunday the 11th instead.
Well I'd say Ulthok is a little concerned that this could be Soulcatcher trying to fool them. The dragon is what drives this concern. Allanan would know they are long lived and would be a risk to reveal this hiding place. But Ulthok is perpared to address the dragon if it comes. He, Peri and Sirene all speak dragon and would be able to communicate with it before it eats us.
But this is a short time after the battle so the trap tunnel would still be under construction. Perhap we need to suggest that we help finish it before we leave.
Also if the body we found isn't Allanan, then who was it? Is there a badie we are yet to encounter? allanan leaving the note for Soulcatcher to find so we can escape and then be there later to do what we are doing now.
I can't believe that you would let something like your health get in the way of our game! Pull it together man! The fate of a world is at stake! Are there no good clerics in your town? Cripes! You are the GM! Just a put a potion of healing into the campaign!
And get your rest - we will be here whenever your up to posting.
BTW who was on guard duty? How did this girl sneak in? If we keep this up we'll be captured or dead in no time.
Could it be she is the dragon we were told about? Hmmmmmm....
Did Allanan say he could teleport us, but he didn't include himself. So we can get there but we won't know what to do without him. Surely it takes his greater magic along with the magic in the fortress to send us home.
With knowledge of where we are going and possible enemies does anyone want time to change spells?
Pretty clearly Allanan spoke about all of us, including him, returning to the future. However, he just as clearly switched to "you" when talking about the fun little expedition to the Isle of the Cyclops. (Just remember to ride underneath a sheep and they are really easy to trick, so no problems there . . . ) Who wishes to be the one to broach that little issue with the lover of wyrms? (Or is it lover of wyrm? Or wyrm lover? How is it that while I want it to sound sarcastically humorous it comes off sounding semi-racist? Can you actually be racist against cross species relationships between species that don't really exist while playing a game? I ponder these sorts of things. I need a life. End of soliloquy.)
Interesting relationship. Is this what comes of not being able to reproduce? (Odd thoughts of only being able to reproduce with his own kind start swirling around - I admit I don't know the whole back story, but there was a Dragon Queen in the castle wasn't there - any chances?)
One way or another I think it is time to go find ol' one-eye.
Allanan said,"The Isle is here, the tower by itself, and the only city close is that of Ara-Kari a port city for mostly pirates and those of ill repute. Though not overly evil its proximity to Cirath Ungole leads it to be a very dangerous city. Why it remains when so many other cities had fallen to the Dark King I cannot say. As I have been there a few times in secret before this war I can mass teleport you all just outside of it, if you wish. From there surely you can find a way to reach the isle."
Well on the map from the parties time Ara-Kari is a ruins. So the City was destroyed sometime.
So in order for a mage to teleport they need to know the area they are going. He didn't send us to the cyclops island so I would guess he hasn't been there. He believes he knows that the tower has the power we need. Now we need to get over to the island. Do we rent a boat or steal a boat? If we rent then maybe we can get to the port by the tower. If we steal we have to sail it and a straight line to the island and then go across country to the tower.
