Ok I decided to fast forward this puzzle to get the game moving forward once more. Below is the correct solution to the puzzle just to give you guys an idea of how it worked. The one symbol you got wrong was the last one the Eel.

That's one of the reasons I moved it forward as I could not find the book I took this from. I created this part of the dungeon YEARS ago so yeah I myself had trouble understanding the pattern. If I find the book I'll copy and paste it here to explain. Don't worry I'm still looking.

So the rest of can start your posts I'll have Ulthok lead going into the tower, checking for traps and dangers. He doesn't have his spells but he does have his Wands. He also has Infravision- 60' range so he can see in the dark as we enter. He will enter cautiously. Those with Infravision should follow and the those without come last. Once all are in we closed the door and either Ulthok with his wand of illumination of other mage with illumination spell can light the way. Everyone should post that they are on alert when the door closes in case that is also a trigger for something.
Since we came in from the South, I would assume we are headed North. I would be inclined to keep going in that direction. If nothing else it might give us a sense of how big the tower is.
Did this room also have lights?
I am ok with resting to recoup spells. If we are going to do so before meeting the cyclops lich, now would be the time. That also makes it a good time to search this room and maybe the corridor we came down for secret doors as was suggested.
Lothor will continue to ponder the meaning of the empty tower.
Here would be a good place for Roan to cast "Find the Path" - to be honest I've rather lost track of what we're searching for other than "the thingy that gets us to our home time." What object or creature should I focus the spell on?
Our current quest was to reach the tower and that is done. What we do now look for "a place steeped in strong magical power".

Handing the clear gem to Ullthok he turned to the rest as if waiting for more questions.
Well as we read it appears that magic is being sucked away. Roan and Sirene should mention this in character so others pay attention to the effects on their magic.
This could be that the great source of magic is not from a magic generator, but a magic sucker that steals magic to feed itself. This would tend to lead to the issue of how that store of magic would be released to help us.
