Looks like Shatter is controllable and can be targeted to a location and area. But being that ice is sort of all one piece it could shatter all over and collasp. The shatter may work in just an area and we will to go and pull the broken pieces and sections away from the door and pillars.
I had asked Tann about the amount of ice in the room including the ceiling to prepare if the "Shatter" broke up that ice too and dropped it to the room floor. But he never answered.
Not sure exact weight, mass, or such but if the shatter works as you think could very well crush anyone under it.
However as the Shatter is controllable there is much less chance of the impact force of the spell spreading too far through that thick of ice.
Nimu, we need your post up to give us direct. If Sirene tells everyone to step back to he stair then we can to that.
You can post that when all are safe Sirene aims and casts her spell.
Here is the spell.....
Ice is a crystal.
The shatter spell is a sound-based attack that affects nonmagical objects of crystal, glass, ceramic, or porcelain, such as vials, bottles, flasks, jugs, windows, mirrors, etc. All such objects within a 3-foot radius of the center of the spell effect are smashed into dozens of pieces by the spell. Objects weighing more than one pound per level of the caster are not affected, but all other objects of the appropriate composition must save vs. crushing blow or be shattered. Alternatively, the spell can be focused against a single item of up to 10 pounds per caster level. Crystalline creatures usually suffer 1d6 points of damage per caster level to a maximum of 6d6, with a saving throw vs. spell for half damage.
Real life has crept in and smacked me this past week - my roommate moved out while I was on vacation and won't respond to any attempt to contact him. We have 2 months left on the lease, and he's skipped out on it so I've been dealing with that fiasco. He was a close friend, and it's a sad thing to lose that kind of friendship. I hope you all can forgive my absence.
I would have Aliya follow the rest out of range of the ice shatter to a safe distance, to await the results.
Aletheia - that really stinks. Bummer. Lothor promises to never skip out on the rent.
Ok, group, this one seems obvious, so lets try to get posts up quickly so we don't need another two week move.
The only real question is if we all move up together or just a couple. I'd say we all move up as one group within Sirene's spell range. We can then post two logical moves:
1. Read the newly revealed poetry.
2. Take a look at the hole at the top of the door. This could probably be done by the giantess. Or she could lift Ulthok up if we need a closer look.
But Lothor's post would be a pretty simple, "stay with the group and keep my eye out" sort of thing.
