Going in....

I was actually thinking along the lines of Tiamat, here... Murph to one side of the door, Mac to the other, and Alaster playing "street sweeper" covering the party's rear...

Doors open... Murph goes in with Mac covering... Mac goes in with Murph covering... Emily, Jake, and Amber follow up... Alaster backs in last... door gets secured and then we scavenge.

Up to you guys, though...

thanks Malek04....

you ruined my "Han Solo" moment.
You know,"Well he certainly has courage"...."What good will it do us if he gets himself killed?"

I was waiting to open the door, when T_catt let me know what kind of door ill be opening or if I am able to open it. It could be a sliding door. and you won't be able to hold the shot gun and force a sliding door open, will you?

FOR ALL PLAYERS: I gave the map a good checking over, and this is what I found out: the GM has fictitiously placed most of the places including O'briens. So this is T_catt's vision not Google's.

Get this, lol, where Save Rite is supposed to be is a shop called "Gay Mart", I kid you not!

And the actual Patty O'Brien's on the Google map is on N. Wells, a good 15-25 miles south of the party's position.

You're a block behind, T...

Gay Mart is back on Halsted where we mashed the 4 zombies... Our party is currently on Cornelia ad Broadway... There is a Save Rite, an Ace True Value, and a Treasure Island Foods there IRL.

O'Brian's location is fictional, yes (and Olan may have fictionalized other spots as well), but the spot our party is, now, is all there as is in the really real world.

Oh-b-Kay-bee!

but still, "Gay mart"

I remember Gaylords. I wonder if the companies are related.

heh

It *is* a push/pull door.

For most locations, Google Maps will give you a pretty correct indicator of what's what. Realize that this is four years in the future, so some businesses may be new/out of business. I took liberties with O'Brian's (didn't realize that there WAS a real O'Brian's) - that block of Cornelia is actually residential only, but I figured that a neighborhood pub would fit right in.

The Save Rite and hardware store are in their real life locations (though our harware store is Ace, the real one is True Value... they must have gotten bought out). This is actually how the Treasure Foods came to be... I didn't realize that it was here when I first mapped out the area, and could see no good reason to exclude it.

If you see any HUGE discrepencies in the maps, feel free to PM me. Minor stuff, though, is artistic license.

Post from me to the game thread shortly.

Also...

...re: Gay Mart... I don't think that that store and the old Gaylord's stores have any affiliation. The particular area of Chicago where we've started out is very close to one of the 'largest gay communities' in the country; "Boys-town" if I remember what I read correctly... *shrugs*... so, yeah... Gay Mart is probably seriously Gay Mart...

Hey! Where are the "fabulous" zombies, anyway???

You guys are killing me. I understand people cracking.freaking out, whatever, but there have been some really surreal arguments going on in this game.

With the world ending, this is what your character would do? Really?

Wow.

Yay for updates!!!

First; welcome, at last, to the game Uncle Dog. Very intriguing post... A doggone good post, if I might say so... (Yeah, I heard the groans even before I typed that... I know... I know... )I've got Murph cued up and reacting already.

Second; my apologies if I've contributed to any surrealism... I'm trying to keep in Murph's head as best I can (doubt that he would have let the 'who goes in first' argument go on as long as it did and such, but... well, I'll address that in my next one, too...). Feel free to jab me if I start straying, though, okay.

aaaaaand...

Finally; I should have that post cranked out by later this evening... The way I'm seeing this, now, is that Murph and Amber will likely be the last in... Figure when the argument about who goes first broke out Murph probably just stepped back with a "you know what? Knock yourselves out" look on his face and kept Amber (and possibly Emily, too) from going in until the shuffle was done... Like I said... you'll see...

Gruggles?

He might eat us before the zombies have a chance!

Ohh... and yes lovely work UncleDog.

Will be interesting to have you in the group.

I'm trying to work up Amber's response today. I'd probably do better if Eol would actually go answer a phone instead of sending me PM's though
