Let's see what this baby can do............

Engineering stuff?

I'm figuring we are doing about a 7 burn now, if we up that to 9 the Arrowhead will think we are maxing out and follow. We can get them to waste fuel. Then if they try anything we can still bang an 11 or better if Grace has any tricks up her sleeve (and use points for better role).

Thoughts?

yup!

Sounds like a good plan to me. I'm foreseeing the need for plot points very soon.

Well

Maybe we waiting on the Captain to make a call on what to do now? Steal and Deal or Turn and Burn?

short break

Hoping that players will post soon.....

I will be posting to all my games over the course of this week and then will not be posting again until the first week of January. Feel free to post yourselves so the game can move forward at that time but with holidays I figure a short break was in order.

I...

*looks back at the Q&A thread*...would like a skill check roll, please? I can post before that if you'd like.

Yay, short break! Hectic Holiday season, anyway.

skill check

You want to go top speed in a heavy shipping lane of space? That will be in the high spectrum of Incredible if not Ridiculous maneuvers. Let me explain the game mechanics of that to clarify.

Destiny is a d10 agil, with a d2 gunship, Tess d10 agil, d8 alert, an additional d8 for Born behind a wheel and a d6 for talented (Nice stacking there, btw). So rolling you are a base 6-44. You will need a 27 to make the skill check.

If you add a plot point you get an additional d6. add two and you get a d8, etc etc.

Hope that helps a bit.

well

The question that I posted on the last page was
Well, better have Tess do the check just to see if she can figure out where they are. Tactical advantage and all. ^_^

So, skill check to see if Tess can determine how far away/where the hailing ship is, please!
Although that does help ALOT, Al, thank you!

Edit: I've got my post written up, but I'm going to wait a little for the skill check roll (so I can say, I know exactly where these guys are, I kinda know where these guys are, or I have no idea where these guys are). Otherwise, this is pretty much a fluff post.

Second Edit: Wait wait, with Tess's pilot skills, doesn't she get an additional d12 for the gunship? Still a touch confused on the system ~ would she roll a d6 for the Pilot skill and the d12 for the gunship specialization, or is it just the rolling of the d12?

Tong vs. Tong...............

Oh I like that thought that there are high level Tong at the party awaiting delivery. Good plot stuff, if Al lets you drop names some then you can that to your post and Jon can drop the hint to Mr. Chung like he did when the Feds stopped us. Helps add to buff. Something like "The Baron would not want to disappoint Mr. Who Flung Poo and his other guests on his promise of this fine vintage." Let them mull over the issue of messing with the Poo Tong, lol.

-----------------------
BTW do these shipping lanes have a Speed Lane? We could do a bit of fancy flying to lose these guys in traffic and then head to an outer edge of the lane for a full burn to haul A**. Hammer Down Good Buddy!

Crowds

If these shipping lanes are that crowded then who has to outrun anyone. They cant forcefully dock with us while we are maneauvering and they cant shoot us down for reasons mentioned before, so just tell them what you will and then continue on our way. What they going to do with all these witnesses about here?

witnesses?

money can be a strong motivation. That's a ton of diamonds we have in our storage bay. And if they have connections... *shrugs* who's to say what they will and won't do?

tess

My mistake with Tess, for some reason I skipped the skill and used to abilities.

Destiny is a d10 agil, with a d2 gunship, Tess d10 agil, d12 gunship, an additional d8 for Born behind a wheel and a d6 for talented (Nice stacking there, btw). So rolling you are a base 6-48. You will need a 27 to make the skill check.

System!

It's all good, Al! I just don't know the system! And thanks for the compliment, by the by. I wanted to make sure she was a solid pilot. ^_^

My point

Cel I understand what you are saying about Money, and I agree but what I am trying to say is this:

A smaller ship, probably unarmed; we would probably have to land to transfer any cargo. The odds of them being armed is not good as the Alliance frowns upon such things even in the face of money.

So really if we say no, what can they do to us 'right now'? Not much, but we will face the consequences later of course. Should be fun!

landing

Oh yes you would have to land to transfer cargo unless you wanted to put on suits and toss it at each other.

The heavy traffic lanes aren't like highways, they are areas of space that depending on planet rotation suddenly become congested as they are in the arc of the fastest route. You could go the entire route without seeing another ship, or you may pass a dozen in transit. Running at a high speed in a corridor is dangerous because the potential for collision is greater, and they won't have the speed to get out of the way.
