Don't worry about Tess, Ody. I am actually quite glad of the game reprieve since I have been moving. I am still surrounded by boxes, but the Internet is up. I will probably bang out a post here on my iPad since my computer is still buried.
I agree with you, Al. I think crew members should have some rudimentary skills if they are aboard a ship. Things get picked up as time goes along, etc. etc.
I think I would have to agree on the d2 minimum for those 'basic knowledge' skills - If I think about it in terms of Catie's case in particular, I wouldn't be surprised if there was mandatory courses regarding emergency knowledge of how to pilot/land/etc. Wouldn't be enough to do fancy maneuvers or anything like that, but would be enough to know how to land the ship in an emergency, or emergency jury-rigging to be able to land in the first place.
To add to that... Catie has Eidetic Memory, so she can potentially remember those emergency procedures.
To conclude, it makes sense to me. Maybe even part of the crew manual (Ody, we *do* have a manual for each crew member, right? )
After the "It's a Whitefire Princess." I was just playing along with that. Figured Grace might be following the tour too. I figured MMV would let me know how she wanted to play it or have me change it.
There isn't any "in character" information that JC and Angela know about the White Lady either. Steph has been there long enough to know, might be a good place for all to chip in after Catie reacts to it.
Catie's plans just got foiled by her own brain going into overdrive at something that she is extremely intrigued by
My apologies for the lateness of that post. I actually didn't spot the meanwhile section earlier, and between vacation, homework, and midterms I'm a little bit behind on my posting.

I will post soon to have Stephanie leave Jon and Tess, find Grace and Angela and then goto the Infirmary, find Catie's note and then seek out Catie. Jon in the meantime will talk to JC. This should put us all on the same page.
Interesting that Catie became distracted by the ghost but do make sure that she remembers the note that Lilianna passed her as it is rather vital to the story.
Catie got rather enthused by the ghosts appearance. She hasn't ever seen one before so it is a mystery and one she wants to solve. Side benefit is Stephanie gets to bring her a bit more up to date too prior to her implementation of her note exchange plan

I am glad to hear you are ok...I'm sorry about the car. With these newer "crumple zones" in car design, there are less injuries (thank goodness), but cars do seem to be written off for what looks like minor damage .
