So I guess a little about myself...I am a gamer, have been gaming for 12+ years and a single parent to a future gamer girl. I'm an artist, avid reader and soon to be student to gain my BA in Social Working.
I am also here in hopes of garnering more support for the online RPG Convention, AetherCon. AetherCon will be held on November 16-18, 2012 and will be featuring tabletop RPGs of all types throughout the weekend highlighted by four three day tournaments of Pathfinder, Call of Cthuhlu, Savage Worlds, and Shadowrun.
Additionally vendors, industry guests, and artists are also in our plans. We will be releasing free downloadable wallpapers throughout the months leading up to the con. You can find the first two, Gormic ‘Pretty’ Nangalmaar as done by White Wolf featured artist Brian LeBlanc and Klandeggin Moltenfist illustrated by Andre Freitas Cardozo here.
All of our events will be run using the Traipse next generation virtual tabletop and its companion browser-based web-client. Both are currently under development with the Beta version of Pious Paladin expected before year’s end. These programs will make it possible for a player to simply click on a link on the event website and ‘sit down at the table’ as it were as opposed to having to download, install, and boot up a separate program as was the case in the past. We are also planning for voice chat technology using Skype technology for some events.
If you are interested, please let me know...either PM here or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I look forward to gaming with you all!!
Let me be the first of the Inn’s Staff member’s to welcome you to our site. As you hopefully have already seen there’s a lot to do here for sure so take your time and get comfortable with our site. There are a wide variety of AD&D rules sets in use here, even at one time a game run on the very first rules edition.. Basic .. Along with a number of varying game systems from Fantasy to the Sci-fi to the occult to plain horror there is always something for someone including even Free Form games here at the Inn.
The Inn has been around quite some time and for a great majority of us is a second home so please treat the Inn, its Staff and all it’s members with respect and we will treat you the same.
So again welcome its always nice to have new people come to us and I hope you’ll feel quite at home here.
So then If you have any questions about the site feel free to PM myself or any other Staff member as needed.
Also here’s a 2nd towel, always keep it handy as Eol, another of our Staff, likes to lick newcomers and he sometimes forgets who he has licked and then licks them again .
Before I post this a question, you say AetherCon will be held on November 16-18, 2012 but you don't say where? I have seen the site on Facebook but again I was unable to find a location. Just curious..........
Welcome, welcome, welcome, Arrevanthas! Always just super-loverly to have new faces pop up hereabouts... (The others tend to get the flavor licked off of 'em before long, yes?). *winks*
I'll be sure to direct folk I know that are or will be in the area of you Con to your link and such, too... Especially if you promise that this won't be your first and last contribution to our oh-so-friendly community. Here's hoping you stick around, find a game or even just a chat buddy, and become a full time, full blown, fully involved Innmate here at the Red Dragon. You won't regret it if you do, I can practically promise that.
Anyway... the lovely Innmates that got to you before I did seem to have more than adequately covered the basics... If there's anything that still befuddles you, or if you need some direction, or even if you just want somebody to hold your hand while you get your feet wet around here, don't hesitate to drop myself, any of the staff, or, really, any other Innmate a PM... (heck, post a general squeal in the Common Room, for that matter)... somebody will come running before long.
Such a wonderful welcoming! I look forward to gaming here a lot. You all seem like a very lively lot!
And to AetherCon, it is an Online Convention to help promote online gaming communities along with the promoting the use of Virtual Tabletop software (Pious Paladin in particular). I game in a wide variety of ways, in person, online through a VTT, on forums (Pbps), even through the use of AIM.
I have an addiction to gaming/rping...but I like my addiction so!
Hi, Arrevanthas. I'm new here, myself, but have already started to feel at home. Hope the same is true for you. People here seem to have generous spirits--and long tongues in Eol's case. Anyway, I, too, would be interested in more information on the online convention. Sounds like fun.
