Greetings & Salutations!

Greetings fellow D&Ders. My name is Mike and my online ‘handle’ is Story Teller. Actually a friend of mine gave me that name years ago when I started DMing almost exclusively for our group. I prefer to DM rather than play, I guess I like telling a story and my friends think I have quite a knack for it. They seem to enjoy my adventures till their character dies. JK

More about me; I just turned the big 50 last month and I have to say I don’t feel that old, though some times my body will remind me of my age.

I found my way here through a RPG Gateway from which I checked out a couple of the sites. I liked this site because it looked friendly and it didn’t ask me to ‘audition’ my writing skills to join. At my age I don’t feel I have to prove myself to anyone really.

I have been reading the site for a couple of days and like what I see so here I am. I am not a novice at online gaming having done it for several years but I have been absent from RP websites for a couple of years. My RL group has taken a few hits of people not being able to get together for several sessions so I find myself with some game time I need to fill.

I hope to recruit some people here in the near future for gaming session, though 2nd edition was always my favorite I also do up to 3.5. So after I kind of learn my way around this site look for a recruitment thread from me one day soon.

Oh, and as a DM I now cast a spell of my own creation, ‘Anti-Moisture Shell’. It protects me from all attempts to face lick me and causes them to rebound upon the licker. The spell is nonreversible and can not be dispelled. As I said I have been reading the site and find myself forwarned.

Grabs a mug of the legendary RDI Froth-n-slosh and kicks back by the fireplace. Here is a toast to many adventures to come.

Hope to see you all around.

Mike

By handle, do you mean, you are good at being a story teller, which is what it sounds like your saying, or your RDinn "character" is a storyteller.
If it's the character, then:My persona is of a lava monster, from the future.
If you mean real life:I'm the annoying player that does random stuff :3

WELCOME!

Oh BTW it's a Potion......

Welcome StoryTeller, so glad you enjoyed the "Good old Froth-n-Slosh."

It's our special friend making potion. It has a magical effect, it nullifies any antistaffer magic.

So that's why we always have extra towels in the Lounge.

Eol will be visiting and there is no getting around the "Official" Innmate greeting.

Glad you found your way to the Inn, hope you enjoy your stay.

We all met a brand new "feller".
Who enjoyed our best brew from the cellar.
What he didn't know,
Was that it's specially required saving throw,
Now Eol can Facelick StoryTeller!

From yours truly, the PUN-dit, Odyson,
Your local DroganChat Lounge bartender!

titles must be earned, they are not given freely

i am Skyar Reighton, a Dmraangon without a title or consitent sanity, and an internet addiction

my greeting is my own to give and shall give so, even if you know that my greeting always changes, you will have it, my greeting innmate.

have a towel, actually have ten, you have tried to prevent the INITIATION, and may get the face licking of a lifetime.
if that slosh isnt strong enough try The Black Dragon Ale, it could knock the pants off a Kord, or if you dont want to get stupid drunk theres cider, for the kiddies, and frostywine from the coldest of the dwarven mountain, its the color of winter itself, and theres also a selection of food and pastries as well if you get hungry.

we love our inn and we want others, such as yourself, to have the best quality DND fun (among other kinds of games), and while you dont have to do this please vote for our inn so as to spread the joy that is the RDINN.

im not much of a DM but i could play almost any kind of character, and i would love to join some of your games.

Another Greeting!

Great to see yet another RPG'er(if that's a word lol) at the inn! As I'm sure you've noticed everyone here is very welcoming and we all have a great deal of fun here! I'd like to play in one of your future games as well! I'm always looking for another adventure! Anyways, welcome and we hope you enjoy it here as much as we do!

I reply

Thank you all for the welcomes.

I will try to answer some things you have addressed:

Pyroboom - StoryTeller is what I am, I have no RDInn character for I am a DM.

Odyson – You must understand that as a DM I am not subject to saving throws and therefore can never fail them. The only facelicking I am subject to are those from my wife or faithful hound, but I welcome this ‘Eol’ character to try if he dares.

Lonewolf – Of course RPGer is a word… see here : RPGer
As for my games, I am working on which one I shall bring to the table. Once I know I will start a recruitment thread and dare those adventurous souls to come forth and test their mettle.

Thanks again for the greetings.

Anti-moistu-what-now???

Wow! Good thing I never studied magic... that sounds like it might be just a smidge on the prohibitive side!

Besides... Facelicks are a good thing! They wipe right off (cuz our loverly innmates are always ready with an abundance of towels) and they mark you as one of ours from here until all get out!!!

Embrace the facelick, O' dear Story Teller! If nothing else, it's good fodder for a trip down the path to Tale Spinning, isn't it?

Welcome, welcome, Innmate! So very glad you decided to join us here in our little corner of the World Weird Web!

Oh, storyteller?

When I said what's your RDinn character, that's not what I meant...
My dad had told me that everyone on the RDinn has their own persona, or alternate self, or something along those lines. I had asked you what's your persona. If you just didn't think about it, then well, I'll just call you by story from now on :3

...

Well, that would explain why you're avatar looks like Perfect Chaos from Sonic Adventure. It's shape shifting, apparently, into a serpent creature...

Sorry to be neglectful.......

...in my residential courtesies. Welcome to the inn fellow inmate.

on one hand, we want you to be comfortable here, so by all means....DM your heart out!

But don't cheat yourself out of the wonderfully awesome stories the others here have worked so hard on and turned into games. If you have an itchy writing finger, give a look to Eol's Smuggler's moon (a freeform adventure).

Also im running a chat room game that has a table top feel to it. The present adventure is called "Diabolic Genesis".
Runs on Tuesdays at 7:30pm central time.
