The Inn seems pretty slow of late, one game fizzled on me and another maybe going on hiatus. This has freed up some extra time for me however and I think a great use of this time would be to discover whether I am DM material.
I have never DM'ed before, despite possessing a copy of the Dungeon Masters Guide, but I am willing to give it a shot.
Would anyone be interested in a short D&D adventure with a few level one characters, just so I can learn the ropes?
If the adventure was fun and we wanted continue into a campaign that would be great!
Emphasis will be on RP with extra EXP up for grabs for good Role-playing.
Dungeons and Dragons 3.5ed
Character Level: 1
Starting Attributes: 74 points spread across the STR, DEX, CON, INT, WIS, CHA.
Books: I only have access to the PHB, DMG and MM so these are the only books I will allow.
Classes and Races: The setting is on the continent of Antaron (Audalis) so any races from there and any class from the PHB.
HP: Give yourself the max roll on your hit die at level one.
Starting Gold: See pg111 of PHB and give yourself the average starting gold depending on your class.
Players: 4 - 6
I think that should cover all the rules! Once you have yourself a character sheet please PM it to me below is the template I use.
First of all, thumbs up for trying this. Second of all, extra thumbs (I'll need to lend some, since I only have two) for doing this in Audalis. and more.
Third: I'm in. Before I make up my mind about what I'll be playing, can you tell us where in Audalis this is going to be set? And how do you propose everybody gets together? Since it's a 1st level adventure, what's the back story, or is there one.
My first thought goes to Sylvari Ranger, but there are many other options I can/would do.
I'd be interested in playing. I have no experience with 3.5 so I would need a bit of assistance. As for charater, I am good with anything so if you would gen up a character that you think rounds out the group when it is together that would be much appreciated. I tend to play along the lines of dwarven clerics but a switch would be nice.
I just thought I would see if anyone would dare start this with me and then I will update some more information almost daily, until I/we get a real feel for a setting.
As for a Back story or hook I have a few in mind. I want the players to decide on most things in this land. So although we may be in Drannon, the town and surrounding area you will know little about and has to be explored, whether you find a few quests on a town message board or just want to go out and explore the countryside. It's up to you!
I figure playing weekly gives a lot of preparation so if the party decides to go and explore a new part of Audalis rather than a planned adventure of rescuing a mayors daughter from ogres it doesn't matter.
Of course correct me if I am wrong
Sounds good Keeper, as I say I rather a good role-player than a rules buff!

Do I dare? I most certainly do, I would love to play some 3.5e Dnd, and I have DM'd a few times IRL if you need some help with DMing. If you would have me I would love to play a support character, Something I don't usually play, such as a healer/enchant or something.
As much as I would love to hop in on a game and help another new DM learn the ropes, I just quite honestly don't have the time or energy to devote to a game right now, even one that would only be one post weekly. I wish you the best of luck though, it looks as though you have plenty of interest as it is.
I just looked those creatures up in the MM and it is my understanding that their level adj is +5 for a Hound Archon and +2 for a celestial being. This means that if we had a starting level of 3 or 6 respectively then I would allow it, however the starting level is one and to be honest I would like to keep it simple. So I am, regrettably, going to have to reject your request, however if you find a creature with a level adj of +1 I will allow it, I believe a Kobold is of +1 but you would need a very good reason for a Kobold to be in a human society!
I'd really love to, Brundel. At the moment I'm trying to get my own business started while working mostly fulltime at my regular job, so it really cuts down on my play time. Who knows, maybe when this thing gets up and running, you'll have decided to do another campaign and I will have the time to join!

Ah I was just throwing those out since i was looking at celestial types, But you said as long as it only had a +1 level adjustment or less? I'm really trying to do something out of the norm so I'm looking for different and unusual things, XD.
