Just to clarify...

I have a few questions...

What level are we starting at?

How much gold do we start with?

Do you have a base character sheet or shall I use the one mentioned earlier in the thread?

I am planning to play a witch focused on Healing, is this a wise option?

How do I choose my ability scores dice roll or point buy?

Sorry for the quiz!

A little help

What level are we starting at?
3rd Level

How much gold do we start with?
3000 gp

Do you have a base character sheet or shall I use the one mentioned earlier in the thread?
Not sure about this one...

I am planning to play a witch focused on Healing, is this a wise option?
Yes, this would be a fine option. Cleric would also work (perhaps more so, if undead are involved).

If you go Witch healing, depending on how higher Philosopher's campaign is going, Hedge Witch archtype might be a good option, so the you can sub out your 4th level hex for spontaneous casting of cure spells. If you go this route, I would bother learning any Cure spells, just take the Healing hex (and Major Healing hex at 10th level).

Additional, I'd go human and use the three feats (bns, 1st, 3rd) to get 2 extra hexes and Accursed Hex (so you can try hex someone a second time if they succeed on their save the first time).

Hexes I'd pick up at the start of the game: Healing, Slumber, Cackle, and Evil Eye (or Ward).

A witch is most definitely a "support" class, with hexes and spells that tend to focus on buffing allies, debuffing enemies and controlling the battlefield.

The Cleric route would be stronger on the healing side, and potentially on the direct combat side as well with (self)buffing spells that can make you into a combat brute. Additionally, also good at taking down undead (though, not sure how big of a deal that will be in this game). If you're into Melee Combat, a Cleric of the War God, with the Travel and Strength Domains could get a bit out of hand. Focus on the Power Attack tree of feats. Favoured class bonus goes to extre hit points, and Strength, Wisdom, and Charisma are your friends.

How do I choose my ability scores dice roll or point buy?
Either one. Point buy is standard 15 points. Dice Rolling requires you to use the RDI Dice Roller and ensure you send the rolls to Philospher's email account.

Yeah!

What he said. Haha. And though I love the ingenuity of the witch. Gotta say I've never seen healing better than a pathfinder cleric.

In any case. It looks like I have my five players, so all I need is character sheets in and I can start this shindig. Also, a simple google search for "pathfinder character sheet" could provide you a tangible look at the characters in question. I find it helps me with my checklists to write them out. If you have any questions or need help or suggestions for your backstory feel free to pm me and I'll get back to you post haste.

Cheers Guys!

Okay my questions have been answered.

I will be getting back to you shortly in regards to a character sheet, so I would expect some more questions. After all this is my first time.

Also, I will be playing a witch. I appreciate your suggestions for a cleric but after only ever playing 3.5ed I would quite like to 'break the mold' as it were.

....character sheet

I...uh, don't suppose the character sheet that Ayrn helped me out with would be sufficient?

Progress Report

Alright. I now have all five character sheets and am just doing a final check up to make sure all the information needed is there. We have Two Avanmephion Elves (King Rat and Brundel may want to discuss knowing each other, it's a pretty tight knit group.) A human thief and cavalier, and an ifrit inquisitor. Pretty interesting group. Aside from perhaps the one character, they all seem pretty soldier of fortune too, which could make for some interesting resolutions taking place.

I should have time to work on starting up the game over this weekend.

Please keep working on your backstories a bit, they may end up being important. Message me if you need any help or inspiration (or if I just haven't written enough backstory and I need to fill you in ).

...

I have currently got a lot on my plate but hopefully a back story will be forthcoming by the end of the week. Thanks for the heads up about the Elves and KingRats character.

Backstory

Even if we get a decent draft in that would do, we can hammer out the details as we go on. I don't see them being relevant instantly, (with the possible exception of the two elves knowing each other before the blades) as we will start neck deep in action. No awkward greetings, no taverns or notes nailed to posts that say "Adventurers wanted!"

Should have her under way today or tomorrow. Will keep you all posted.

The Game!

This thread should be close to useless. Got my recruits, and the game has started. So let's move any questions to pms or the Q&A thread, and check out the game The End of All Measure.
